One of the March giveaways in Allure this month was a new product from Fekkai, the Frederic Fekkai Salon Glaze. Aimed to give that “fresh from the salon” shine and color boost at home, it contains pearl protein for reflective shine (the same stuff that comes in some face highlighting products), vitamin B-5 (great stuff for getting your hair in better condition), sweet almond protein, and grape seed extract – all of which are great for your hair. The problem I always have with typical shine serums is that I can’t distribute them evenly, so one spot end up looking greasy. However, this glaze apparently doesn’t add weight or oiliness, so this may be the answer to the shine product dilemma.

If you are excited to get salon shiny hair at home, and like me, didn’t get in on time to the Allure giveaway at the beginning of the month, you can find the Salon Glaze at Beauty.com for $28.00.

Update: It is now also available at Sephora. It is on backorder at Neiman Marcus.

Second Update: I tried it and you can read my review of it here.

I went to find my trusty philosophy the present clear eyes pencil – a wonderful creamy pencil for the inner rim of the eye that makes my eyes seem super big and wide awake – and found that philosophy doesn’t make it anymore! So, I went looking on the philosophy website (pouting slightly at the loss of my perfect pencil), I found they have a section that lists products that were recently discontinued here.

From there, you may want to contact philosophy through their website to see if there is any way to get a hold of your product, or they may be able to recommend a similar product within their own line.

I was in J. Crew today and the bangle bracelets they have in their jewelry collection caught my eye. They are pretty on the website, but in person, they are really striking. I tend to stay away from bangles for some reason, but these may be the exception to my rule. Truly beautiful.

I’m headed back to J.Crew in a couple of days – I definitely want to spend more time looking through their jewelry section!

I love Betsey Johnson shoes. These are nice and springy – and check out the cute sole of the heel.

I was looking for a lipstick a few minutes ago (the number of lipsticks I have is really disturbing), and came across TheBalm Plump Your Pucker Tinted Gloss in “Spike My Punch”. I got this particular shade when they first released it some time ago.

As the name implies, the Plump your Pucker tinted gloss line is a plumping gloss, and does a great job. It contains Maxilip, which is a collagen booster. The claim is that if used for 30 days, you will see a difference in the overall volume of your lips – and you do. There is a nice range of colors, many of which I have used, but Spike My Punch is my favorite. It’s a delicate, sheer red – I have difficulty finding a red gloss that looks good on me, but this is a fruit-punch red that is perfect. And even better, it smells and tastes just like Hawaiian fruit punch. Without the calories. :)

On the whole, between the plumping, the color, and the consistency, Plump your Pucker gives your lips a younger, delicate look. It layers well over lipstick as well.

I’m perpetually surprised that bright pinks like this Stila Convertible Color For Lips And Cheeks in Fuchsia look so delicate and flattering – it’s that “your lips but better” look that is barely noticeable as makeup but your face looks fresh and bright. Despite how intense it looks in the pot, it goes on light and isn’t sticky – I love using it on cheeks as well. And as far as 2 in 1 cream color pots go, Stila makes a great convertible color – works as well for cheeks as is does for lips.

For just a slight amount of color, pat it into your lips with your finger. For more substantial coverage and color, use a lip brush to apply.
