I’ve done a pretty good job over the past couple of years in keeping my hair from oxidizing from sun exposure – a real peril of long hair is looking like you have strange extensions at a certain point when the sun damages the shaft of your hair and the color (natural or processed) changes. At least the ends of my hair are pretty close to the color of my roots lately.

Unfortunately keeping color isn’t easy – a lot of updos and hats are involved if I’m going beachside. I’ve tried various hair SPF formulas - but most leave my hair with too much residue and far too dull.  Next on my list to try is Fekkai’s SunShine Shield Spray, which sounds pretty good from the write-up.

To avoid the “too much product” factor, it sprays out in a micro-spray so you can control how much goes on. It contains an SPF to protect against sun damage, as well as lightweight silicone to keep moisture in your hair. It also contains Sunflower Seed Oil – which is an absolutely amazing hair conditioner. On top of all that, it adds shine to your hair (a welcome feature for me after all the dulling hair protector products I’ve tried over the years!).

You can find Frederic Fekkai Summer Hair Sunshine Shield Spray at Sephora for $22. I’m looking forward to trying it.

These 7 FOR ALL MANKIND jeans caught my eye on YOOX.COM – I really like the long legged tailored bootcut look. Comes with a 9.25 inch opening, which is a great proportion to wear with a stacked heel.

Find them at YOOX.COM for $219.00.

I’m always attracted to green eyeshadows, which theorically should make my olive-hazel eyes pop. But I’ve rarely had success – I usually look tired with green hues. After seeing this Bare Escentuals Ponder Four Piece Collection, I think I’ve found the problem with every other green shade I’ve tried – they are too warm for my skin tone, even if it’s a pastel or mint green. So I’m excited to try this adorable three shade with an applicator and a cute springy bag.

Described as the “coolest” shades of green, these shades are more platinum/silver based than most green shades I’ve tried. What impresses me is that there is still extrodinary depth to the colors - which is typical of Bare Escentuals shadows. In fact, the one green that consistently works on me is from Bare Escentuals – “Green Tea”, a deep forest green shade. (Side note: Bare Escentuals Green Tea shadow is amazing for creating a dramatic 1920′s flapper girl eye if you use it as both a liner and a shadow.)

The Ponder Four Piece Collection consists of the fresh and pretty zippered bag, a double ended lining and shaping brush, Envy (a pale lime shimmer), Pond (a matte blue green) and Live (a shimmering moss green). Great for creating a fresh spring eye!

Find the kit at Sephora.com for $42.

I have a solid navy gown that is reminiscent of this J. Crew Jillian Halter Gown – it’s a great go-to look for weddings.

I’m on a mission this spring to find the perfect petal pink lip look – and I think Benefit’s poisetint will be a good base. In looking through endless lipsticks to find that perfect pink, I came across Benefit Cosmetic’s silky finish lipstick in breathless, which looks like it fits the bill. It’s a little more intense looking that a true petal color – but I think it’s more wearable as a result.

I love the collar and neckline on this ALEXANDER MCQUEEN blazer -  this style really frames your collarbone and the slope of your neck. I have a dress suit with a similar collar and neckline and love it – you certainly can add a necklace, but the neckline highlights your bone structure so well that it looks better without.

Find it at YOOX.COM.

I can’t wait to try Benefit’s sequel to Benetint, a gorgeous petal pink color called posietint. It’s described as a poppy-pink lip and cheek stain, which is a rare color to find in the lip and cheek stain realm. It has a slightly cool base to it, which is also difficult to find in a stain – most stains tend to run towards deep, warm colors. As a rule of thumb, if you look good in silver or platinum eyeshadows, then posietint will look absolutely gorgeous on you.

Find it at Benefit Cosmetics for $28.00.
