DIY manicures almost always turn out bad for me because no matter how long I try to stay still, I seem to always smudge my nails, even with quick drying nail polishes. Enter Avon NAIL EXPERTS Liquid Freeze Quick Dry Spray.

I often think of Avon as that brand that has been around forever with products like Skin So Soft and I often forget about Avon for beauty basics when actually Avon frequently puts a great deal of research into the products, especially for skincare, as seen by their numerous beauty related patents on par with or exceeding many prestige brands.  So I thought if a company was going to get a quick dry spray that actually worked, Avon had a pretty good chance of having a good one at a fair price.

This spray is a non-aerosol pump spray in a small bottle. Like other sprays of it type, instructions say to allow your polish to set, then spray directly onto your nails. It is a non-offensive scented oil spray. When using this spray, spray close to your nail so as not to get the oil everywhere, it is oily enough that I try to use a paper towel or spray over some scrap paper to not get the oil on nearby surfaces. Leave the oil on your nails until it dries or wears off, but you can immediately type or otherwise use your hands until the oil dries.

As a test, about ten minutes later, I was opening a package and used my nails to peel off the packing tape. I accidentally hit my thumbnail with the scissors and expected a big dent in the polish, but the polish stayed put. It did not make the nail polish dry faster exactly, but more kept it set in place once it was initially dry. If you spray too early, you will get streaks in your polish.

I did notice my manicure seemed to chip faster, but this may be a coincidence as I also tried out a new polish and top coat at the same time. I will try the spray with my usual polish and top coat and post if I have any different results

Obviously with a semi-neutral heel like the Betsy Johnson Lacy can go with any lip – but if you would like a neutral lip as well, you can try two directions courtesy of Liptini:

First you can try a pinkish-caramel color like Liptini Irish Cream (pictured here over Liptini Pink Whip Mixer Pencil) Liptini Pink Whip Base and Irish Cream LipStick
If you would just like to wear a gloss for summer, try Liptini Cuba Libre, a bronzy cola color that enhances the red in your lip.  Liptini Cuba LibreCuba Libre 2

I love these – works now through the fall given the coloring. Sports a 4″ stiletto – but you should have decent stability with the ankle strap.
