I have been doing some killer leg workouts lately, and they have left me exceptionally sore. Do my legs look good? Yes. But that is not much consolation on the days I’m limping around after pushing myself.
We all know that a massage is a good answer to post-workout, but it isn’t always feasible, o one needs to take matters into their own hands. Foam rollers are a popular option, but for a more precise massage, a muscle roller is a great investment. I like the Live Infinitely Muscle Stick Roller. It is an 18” long, thin roller that has a base of a steel rod surrounded by durable plastic rollers. It costs far less than a single massage and it gets deep into the muscle to provide relief. My legs feel so much better after using it.
It is also amazing on other muscles. I tried it on the small of my back and had no idea how much tension I had there. The same with my shoulders – it gets deep into knots and achy muscles to sooth them.
Is it the same as a luxurious massage? No. Lying on a warmed table and letting someone else work out your knots is always better, but it’s not practical to get a massage every day. So for times that a massage isn’t an option, this is great for gently soothing your muscles.
My favorite thing is to use the roller on the back of my legs before bed. After five minutes my legs are relaxed and ready to go to bed. Couple that with a cup of tea and I’m out like a light.
