Our Review Features

Independent Research

Before we select a product for review, we examine the ingredient list.

We search peer-reviewed journals and clinical studies to evaluate if a product’s claims can be met by its’ ingredients or technology.

One Product at a Time

We test only one product at a time. We never test multiple products at once or use competing or conflicting products. This way we report the most accurate results in each product review.

True User Experience Timelines

We thoroughly test each product for weeks to months for the true user experience.

If the product says it takes 3 months to see results, we will report our experience after three months. Some reviews include progress updates, as applicable.

No Brand Stock Photos Ever

We use no PR, press or product stock photographs.

All product images are original photographs of the actual product we tested.

See for yourself how a product is sized to scale, its’ texture, the ingredient list, the design features (or flaws), and the product packaging in its true form.

It is our goal to show a true color swatch for each product we test for the most accurate review and report.  We only correct for lighting.

A Carefully Curated Collection

We frequently feature products mostly free of skin irritants such as parabens, fillers, fragrance, and other additives. If you have problem skin or sensitive skin, finding skincare products is complicated.

Experiencing skin irritation from a product may not be a reaction to the active ingredients such as aHa, Vitamin C or retinol.

Rather, the additives are often the reason for skin irritation[1]. Added fragrance to a product formulation is most the common cause of skin reactions [2], especially on the eyelids. [3]

So before deciding an active ingredient just isn’t for you, see the Clean Beauty and fragrance-free product options we have discovered.
