CBD Skincare Done Right
Brand Profile: Le Vesque

May 6, 2020 · Leave a Comment

We are so excited to introduce you to Le Vesque, a truly impressive line of CBD skincare.

Choosing CBD Skincare: You, Me and CBD

As ingredient-obsessed bloggers, we know CBD holds amazing restorative abilities. It treats skin conditions that seem hopeless: acne, aging, eczema, and psoriasis.  CBD is in some trendy skincare lines.

But many CBD products miss the mark in texture and leave us greasy. And many smell, well, like a Cheech & Chong inspired frat party. Or have a distinct burly man from the woods aroma.

But the real problem is there’s some dubious CBD out there. A study in The Journal of the American Medical Association reported that more than sixty percent of online CBD products are mislabeled. [1]

Even some boutique and luxury brands use subpar, chemically stripped CBD. That depletes CBDs best healing properties, making for lackluster CBD skincare.  But CBD can accomplish SO MUCH. If other creams have failed your skin, don’t give up on CBD.

Le Vesque Invigorate Collection contains grapefruit scented CBD creams with no greasy drydown

Fortunately, a quick investigation reveals the good CBD from the not so good.  And once you try a product with high-quality CBD, it is a game-changer.

So we‘re delighted to discover that Le Vesque gets CBD skincare right.

Le Vesque CBD Luxe Skin Cream contains 500mg of full-spectrum CBD. It treats aging, acne and skin conditions like eczema.

Le Vesque

In sum, Le Vesque is what one wants in CBD skincare:

  • Non-greasy drydown
  • Quality CBD: USA-grown, CO2 extracted, Full Spectrum CBD
  • Very low THC traces, so no “high” or altered feeling
  • Third party testing reports from a highly reputable lab
  • Instant skin improvement and feel
  • Very pleasant natural grapefruit scent
  • Spectacular supporting ingredients typically reserved for luxury beauty serums. Like Reishi, Algae, Shiitake, Royal Jelly, and Mango Seed Butter
  • Cruelty-free
  • Luxurious, but not frivolous. These products are workhorses that get things done.

Once we experienced Le Vesque, we had to learn more about the brand itself.  So we asked the Le Vesque founders the story behind the amazing formulations. Without further ado, we present the Le Vesque backstory.

 About Le Vesque

Our Story

Where did it begin?

Le Vesque Luxe was born of associations in a business law course at the University of Connecticut. Two of the co-founders, Mike and Joe, are prior service veterans and entrepreneurs who were looking to start a business that served a real need. Little did they know that Chris, their MBA business law professor, and CEO of Le Vesque Luxe, was a seasoned entrepreneur committed to helping students and veterans start businesses.

In 2018, we rallied around an earnest desire to create products answering the needs of underserved markets. Fueled by insights from Juan & Priya, we identified the need for inclusive cosmetics owing to the seeming invariable tendency for firms to develop products principally for a narrow slice of the population. We learned that most cosmetics contain nasty chemicals, with very few products available that were both all-natural and inclusive of different skin tones and types. The racial and ethnic diversity of our own family backgrounds demanded that we do it differently, more invitingly.

Why CBD?

December 2018, saw passage of the Farm Bill, heralding the potential development of meaningful health and beauty aid products benefitting from the incredible nature of CBD oil. This piqued our interest sincerely, as Joe’s sister has battled Crohn’s disease for over 15 years with medical CBD conferring great results over that time. Further research indicated that CBD could serve as a wonderful ingredient for skincare products owing to so many of its tremendous properties (moisturizing, anti-inflammatory, and so forth). We therefore set out to formulate a line of CBD skincare topicals for all skin types, comprised of full-spectrum, organically-grown CBD, coupled with the most natural and effective ingredients available.

How about the products?

We strive to stay true to our mission — personally developing all-natural, inclusive products with the very finest and most effective ingredients. Products that we are proud to have our own families use. After many months of development, our first set of products is now available to your families, as well.

Stay tuned this week for our full-feature coverage on three products from the Le Vesque range. We discuss our experience, the ingredients, CBD research, and share research on how to choose a reputable CBD skincare product.

We think you will be as impressed as we are!

The Le Vesque Invigorate Collection works synergistically

Brand Profile: ROIL by Hair Guru Amanda George

February 21, 2020 · 8 Comments

We tend to cherry-pick the best products from various brands to best meet our beauty needs. But sometimes we encounter a brand that each product is a home run. One such brand is ROIL by Amanda George.
ROIL luxury hair and body care products

ROIL luxury hair and body care products

ABOUT ROIL

Roil, pronounced ROYAL,  is a luxe body and hair care line by hair guru Amanda George. Brand founder Amanda George travels extensively. She found even in the best hotels and resorts had few true luxury hair care products and amenities. So ROIL was born.

The line is available in select luxury hotels, such as Viceroy Hotel and Resorts. It is also available in ROIL salons (Beverly Hills, Cabo St Lucas, and Dubai), and from the RoilLife.com website.

This suite of luxury hair and body products contains complementary, non-competing scents and natural ingredients. These ingredients condition and nourish hair and skin.

About the Founder

Amanda George is a celebrity stylist. You have seen her hair wizardry on the red carpet.

Amanda also creates marvelous hair friendly cocktails using natural oils. These concoctions are hand-crafted and behave like gentle treating actives. They have the unique ability to make hair and skin  look and act younger.

You may also know Amanda from when she was the George in Neil George.

Amanda’s Neil George range introduced me to the wonder of amla oil. It kept my naturally coarse, highly abused, older, graying, and frequently colored hair strong, bouncy and lush.

Once I contemplated cutting my long, damaged hair much shorter. Instead, Amanda’s amazing conditioning cocktails helped me fix my over-processed, brittle hair. I actually grew my hair longer, past my mid-back! And it looked healthy, had movement and acted like much younger hair.

I attempted to mix my own hair conditioning oils, but never got the same results. Probably because Amanda George is a hair ninja.

So when I heard Amanda George had a new haircare line called ROIL she got my attention, fast.

the ROIL Range

There is too much to say in one post.

Suffice it to say, Amanda is up to her old magic-in-a-bottle-natural-oil-concoction tricks with the ROIL line. And she has expanded to body care as well. There is a decided spa luxury feel to each product. But more importantly, each product delivers.

The ROIL Private Collection range includes Shine Shampoo and Conditioner, and the Healthy Hair Masque. The body line contains Hand Lotion, Hand Wash, Body Lotion and Body Wash.

We think you will love this brand. We will spill all the details on each ROIL product we have tried in individual posts, along with our customary Style Chicks research-verified ingredient profiles to explain how each product works.

Spoiler alert…

There are lots of hair-enhancing and skin-loving ingredients packed into these efficient but luxe products. These ingredient cocktails leave skin supple and hair looks and acts younger, fuller and so shiny.

There are several ROIL products we’ve purchased repeatedly. One has even landed on our Style Chicks Holy Grail for Hair short list. We think you’ll love it as well.
