I realize that everyone who follows us know this fact, but as I sit here at the library and my skin and eyes are getting completely dried out (MAC strobe cream is coming out soon as a skin refresher), I’m reminded at how much I love the fact that Liptini Topper glosses are super-moisturizing and keep my lips from drying out…this may be the sappiest I’ve felt about a product in some time…. <grin>

And check out their new gorgeous shades for Spring at Liptini.com!

If you have every color in the rainbow in your heels, you can go a little crazy with your lip color too. Try Liptini’s “Rainbow Rita” mix:

Apply Grenadine, Bloody Mary, and Cognac lipsticks (I’d guess Bloody Mary over the entire lip, Grenadine layered over that, and Cognac in the middle of the lower lip to highlight and make you look poutier), and then add Spritizer Lip Topper for some shimmer, Pink Ice Lip Topper for a sweet look, and a coat of Vodka (clear and shiny) on top of everything. The key is to use verrrrry thin coats of each, and blend the lipstick colors gently.

Dior gave us a collection that would have made Marie Antoniette envious – lavish full skirts, sweet blushes and ice blues, and vibrant, tropical makeup. The makeup choices sort of strikes me as reminiscent of 1890′s Paris (think Toulouse-Lautrec paintings) but with pinks, blues, and tangerines.

As far as the collection itself, I particularly adore this little number – fulfilling all my fantasies of a wedding dress that I wouldn’t trip on, but isn’t as short in front as Stephanie Seymour’s in the “November Rain” video. The particular shades of blue really evoke Spring, and the styling of the skirt is both sweet and sophisticated.

I hope some of the intensely pigmented makeup catches on (and if the Spring Nars and shu uemura collections are any indication, I think we will be seeing far more of these beautiful shades).  If you like the shades that look like they were plucked right from a summer garden, here’s a couple of Liptini shades you’ll want to try. Of course, the stains can be used on both cheeks and lips – be sure to add the stain to your cheeks right after putting on moisturizer, as you’ll have plenty of time to blend before they set.

- Tini Beauty Liptini Cordial Shimmering Lip & Cheek Tint in Framboise – the most perfect raspberry pink.

-Tini Beauty Liptini Cordial Shimmering Lip & Cheek Tint Sloe Gin Fizz – somewhere between a sweet tangerine and a ginger red – but works with every skin tone. I love using both Sloe Gin Fizz and Framboise as a subtle blush.

-Liptini Straight Up Color Lipstick Grenadine – an intense pink that doesn’t overpower, just makes your lips look fantastic.

- Liptini Straight Up Color Lipstick Bloody Mary – a classic blue based red that is perfectly daytime friendly when applied with a lip brush or blotted (like your lips but better), or 1940′s starlet with a couple of coats. And it’s a perfect red for Spring, since there aren’t brown or gray undertones.

For this week’s Jimmy Choo Suede Boots, as well as the last two Saturday’s heels, add two thin layers of Liptini Lip Liqueur Lip & Cheek Stains – Kirsch and let them dry in between coats. It’s a sheer garnet color, so it’s not too harsh if your complexion is fair, but it also gives a hint of plum so it looks really fresh this time of year. Add a dab of Liptini Topper Lip Gloss in Crushed Ice in the middle of your lips to make them look fuller.

I’ll post a pic of this combo as soon as I get it off my camera!

I’m on a bit of a slate blue fashion kick lately – so the opalescent blue whisper that Liptini Topper Lipgloss in Blue Flame adds to any lip color has been a constant in my purse recently. And if your sporting those fab Cl By Chinese Laundry Women’s Staff Patent Boots, nothing but Blue Flame will do.

Liptini Lip Cordial Shimmering Lip & Cheek Tints - Ambrosia
I think Blue Flame would go great over Liptini’s new Cordial Shimmering Lip and Cheek Tint, Ambrosia. It’s a pinkish-brown color – adding the pink tint would make it look modern and fresh, not like you just stepped out of 1998. Looks like a great color for Fall – I can’t wait to try it. That is, of course, if you can pry my perfect shade, Liptini Framboise, out of my hands. :)

Obviously your outfit will dictate the color of your lipstick than the shoe in the case of the Prada Ruffle Sandals, but no matter what base color you use, add Liptini Topper Gloss in Blue Flame as a finishing touch. It’s subtle opal-blue warmth instantly transforms you into the 1940′s movie heroine who would have a closet full of those heels.

For a fabulous little bootie like this week’s Jonathan Kelsey Metallic Shoe Booties, your lipstick will be influenced by the rest of your outfit. But a great base is the same as July 28th’s match – start with Liptini Mixer Lip Pencil in Pink Whip to add a cool undertone to your lips, and then dab on Liptini Straight Up Lipstick in Irish Creme. From there, add a Topper Lip Gloss that matches the undertone of your outfit – if you are playing up a gold tone in your clothes, add Liptini Topper Lip Gloss in Spritzer for a gold-hued finish, Liptini Topper Lip Gloss in Champagne for an icy beige, or Liptini Topper Lip Gloss in Pink Ice.

Here is the base color before you add the gloss of your choice:
