My hairstyle formative years were in the 1990s. Add to that the fact that Lyn received constant comparisons to Julia Roberts circa Mystic Pizza at the time, and I received constant comparisons to Lyn (though not to Julia Roberts), and let’s just say any product that delivers volume was good in my book.

Fast forward to today, and while my style has taken on a far more relaxed and wavy look, I’m still on a constant hunt for the latest and greatest in volumizers (what woman isn’t?). So I happily tried Serge Normant Meta Lush Volumizer when the lovely ladies at Lock & Mane sent it to us. (Ms. Roberts is a fan of the line and the spokesmodel). It definitely lives up to it’s lush name.

I have used it on both wet and dry hair. On wet hair it is a fantastic styling agent. I thought it was interesting that a few minutes after spraying it on my wet hair, the sections of my hair that I would have to manually separate out to dry started to kind of naturally fall into place. My hair dried with each section full of bouncy volume with only a rough blowdry. This is a great product to have on hand when you are short on time as the amount of volume it adds and the coiffed look you get would typically take far longer to style without it – a definite go-to product.

On dry hair, I love Meta Lush Volumizer for a quick and highly effective volume boost. Pick up a section of hair, spray it, repeat with each section, and then tousle your hair a bit and you’ll have mega volume in no time.

I get soft, perfectly defined waves and amazing volume when I used it in conjunction with Oscar Blandi Hair Lift – the two are really a great combo together. My hair moves beautifully, and gives off the slightest luscious scent when I turn my head. While I’m not the biggest fan of scented hair products, I love the scent of Meta Lush Volumizer. Not too heady, but definitely a luxurious scent.

All in all I really look forward to using Serge Normant Meta Lush Volumizer each day. It gives a polished full volume look on a consistent basis, wet or dry. It also contains great ingredients that improve the condition of your hair with repeated use, as well as a UV filter (huge bonus). Yesterday we talked about how much we love Oscar Blandi Hair Lift Instant Thickening & Strengthening Serum. As impressed as Lyn and I were with how it made our long hair thick, strong, shiny and voluminous, we were even more impressed with what it did for our grandmother when Lyn styled her hair before she went to a gathering.

Our grandmother is an 87 year old woman with a chic short cut that has suited her over the decades. After a few months of being a bit under the weather, she was headed out to see some friends, so of course we had to do her hair for her. Our grandmother’s hair is very thick on it’s own and she has a lot of hair, but this product made her hair look young and healthy in one use. It showed me what I couldn’t quite pinpoint on my own hair when I used it – it produced a vitality, shine, and movement that is the province of children’s hair. She has a great cut that gives a lot of volume, but Instant Thickening & Strengthening Serum took it from a great haircut to a great style.

Oscar Blandi Hair Lift Instant Thickening and Strengthening Serum

Due to the large amount of wavy hair I had, my nickname in high school was Medusa. Lyn’s nickname was also Medusa. Short story, the Style Chicks Sisters have a lot of hair.

Despite that, I’m always in the market for thickening and strengthening treatments. No matter how much hair you have, it just won’t look good if it’s not thick and strong, all the more so if it is long. It’s the difference between hair that needs a scissors taken to it and long, lush locks.

Oscar Blandi Hair Lift Instant Thickening & Strengthening Serum

As you know, I’m a fan of all things Blandi, so when the good folks at Lock & Mane sent me Oscar Blandi Hair Lift Instant Thickening & Strengthening Serum to check out, I was pretty excited. It’s a heat activated formula that imparts as much volume as you’d like, ranging from a little extra bounce to full out bombshell hair, all while keeping strands soft. In fact, it really doesn’t feel like you have any product in after application and styling. Just full, lush, soft, super shiny hair. The shine was a pleasant surprise – it might be due to the Wheat Protein in the formula but there are a couple of ingredients that may be responsible for taking my occasional blonde strand and making it look like spun gold.

Kind of like moisturizer, it is the first product that you apply to your hair when styling it. While it’s meant for use on wet hair, I got fantastic results when I used it on dry hair and then ran a blowdryer over my hair for ~ 1 minute to activate it with heat and style it. That was probably the most tousled “Sophia Loren” looking I’ve gotten my hair in quite some time.

I styled with it after washing my hair in both the hard well water at home and soft water when I was travelling, and I think it works a little better in soft water. Usually it’s the opposite for me – I get better results from a styling product with hard water, but this works great with both. I’m thrilled to find a product that I can toss in my weekend bag and know I’ll get great style regardless of what the water is like there!

The directions say to use a dime sized amount, and that’s about right. I used a little more on a day that I wanted some extra volume at the crown, but it doesn’t take much of the silky formula to coat even long, thick hair. I love how my hair feels so strong and silky all the way down to the ends…it is kinda hard to keep my hands out of my hair when I use it. Since only a dime sized amount is needed, the 1.7 bottle will last you awhile, even with everyday use. And with continued use, your hair will get stronger and thicker – I love products that style and improve the condition of hair at the same time!
