I love a decorative heel – and if you want to add a bit of intrigue to your shoes, check out these Gucci Roma Platform Sandalsicon. With the mid-heel bamboo detailing, these 5″ heels add subtle elegance to a skinny pant or fitted dress suit.

Boot season has officially arrived this week (for me anyways), and this pair of Jimmy Choo Suede Bootsicon almost has me excited about the colder weather to come. Guess I’m making a trip to Saks soon. :)

With the black tie flourish on the back of the boot, they will look great with a skirt and sweater – what immediately comes to mind is something in a cranberry or plum hue, but obviously black boots can go any direction. And I love the multi-colored heel – a bit of a Lichenstein painting feel to it. And if it’s especially cold, a cashmere pair of tights (worth every penny, btw) will keep you toasty warm and match the luxury of the boots.

Find them at Saks.comicon for $1650.00.

The problem I faced this week: All of my new Fall pants are on the long side. While I like my pants to hit the top of the front of my foot, I still need to have most of them taken up about half an inch, in order to get both the line I like and to not trip and fall on my face. And it’s getting kind nippy here, so my strappy wedges that typically take care of this problem are officially being shelves for the season. So it’s time to go looking for a new fall heel that covers all the bases that covers this time until we begin glorious boot season.

So in browsing Saks.comicon I came across these BCBG MAX AZRIA Lace up Ankle Bootsicon that sport a great oxford appeal. The versatility really appeals to me – the brown/black/croc vamp combo really makes it work with most pants, and the chunky 4″ heel keeps your hem out of your heel, and of course will make your legs look a million miles long.

Find them at Saks.comicon for $250.

I hate to be there bearer of bad news, but cold weather is coming. And, yes, as you mother told you, you need a hat. Your mom was worried about you getting a cold (doctors debunked that, didn’t they?), but I’m worried about you getting hair damage. Priorities, priorities….

So the next question – how do you wear a hat without flattening your hair? Cashmere, my friend, cashmere. Keeps your head warm, your hair protected, and is a delicate enough weave that it doesn’t leave you with, well, hat hair.

Check out this  Juicy Couture Cashmere Haticon – warm, adorable, and style-preserving. I love the jeweled flower on the side. I’d personally go with the blush color (“Dress Up”), but the black and gray would look sharp as well.

Find it at Saks.comicon for $95. And while you are there, consider the matching scarf and gloves – nothing beats cashmere for scarves and gloves.

Are these Prada Ruffle Sandalsicon over the top?

Nah. In fact I can think of four outfits off the top of my head that would justify me snatching them up. :)

Find them at Saks.com.
