Many people have difficulty concentrating, and a short attention span and some even have a formal diagnosis of ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). Even those without a diagnosed problem often have difficulty focusing or even a lack of focusing when overloaded with work, projects, homework, illness or general stress. Instead of prescription medications, a holistic approach can be helpful, such as an aromatherapeutic application of a natural product such as essential oils. Using essential oils helps one relax and focus without risk of the severe side effects that are often associated with ADHD medications. But if one is not near a diffuser (such as at school, the library or work) having a portable means to use aromatherapy can significantly aid the ability to concentrate and focus. AD2 by Scent2 Health is a topical aromatherapy blend that can be used to focus quickly.
HOW AD2 WORKS
AD2 is a topically or externally applied essential oil blend that helps ease the symptoms often associated with ADHD or high stress such as a short attention span, lack of focusing & hyperactivity. It does this by combining high-grade essential oils that provide focus and a productive channeling of energy. These oils are:
Citrus paradisi (Grapefruit) oil is useful for emotional support. It is an uplifting oil that many find helpful for depression, anxiousness, bad moods, or stress. It is calming and helpful with preventing overeating.
Citrus Limonum (Lemon) oil promotes a positive mood and cognitive ability, specifically focus and clarity. It is an uplifting scent that clears the mind of distractions and to accomplish the task at hand.
Origanum majorana (Marjoram) Oil smells a bit spicy but mellows upon topical application. It balances the sweet smell of lavender. It has a calming effect on the mind.
Lavendula Officinalis (Lavender) Oil is often used to help people sleep. It does this, in part, by calming the body and the mind, specifically by helping the mind not to “race” and allows the body to rest. It does not directly make one feel drowsy, just calm.
Melissa officinalis (Mellisa) oil is lemon balm oil. It calms tension and nerves and is particularly uplifting to the mood and is considered helpful for bouts of depression. A “happy” scent that helps with planning.
Odorata (Ylang ylang) oil is often just associated with being an aromatic scent, as it is frequently used in perfumes. It has many health benefits including the ability to lift a mood while having a calming effect. It is also considered particularly beneficial for making productive use of pent up energy and emotion.
Rosmarinus officinalis (Rosemary) Oil has an evergreen scent. It is seen as beneficial to the nervous systems and is reported to have a positive impact on memory and assisting in learning. It is often recommended for students with ADHD or hyperactivity to help them remain focused while studying or learning.
Frankincense oil helps balance mood swings, and the scent is often considered emotionally uplifting. It also helps ease confusion.
Vitus Vinifera (Grape seed) Oil is a moisturizing, nourishing carrier oil. It provides a base oil for essential oils and absorbs into the skin without being greasy or leaving a shiny residue on the skin.
HOW TO USE
Apply a few drops of AD2 underneath the nostrils, back of the neck and inner side of wrists 2-3 times a day or as needed. Massage gently into the skin until the oil is dry. The oil works in two ways: it is absorbed through the skin, and it also can be inhaled indirectly or directly when applied to the wrist or it can be applied directly under the nostrils.
AD2 OIL SCENT
The scent is pleasant and not overpowering, it has a mid-note of citrus, more so the lemon than the grapefruit to me, it is neither strictly feminine or masculine, it reminds me of some of the more citrusy Creed scents. I do not specifically smell the lavender but do detect the Ylang-Ylang, it is crisp without being overbearing. The scent of AD2 is not overwhelming as if one is wearing too much perfume, it could even be worn to a job interview and not be particularly detectable to others, and it would not be considered an offensive scent, it smells clean and crisp.
I put AD2 to the test when I had a big, detailed project that required focus and concentration.
This project required that I read a significant amount of very dull technical information to grasp the subject before performing the task itself. I also didn’t have much time to do it in because I procrastinated. It was hard to get motivated and focus my attention on the reading to understand so much written material. I made a schedule of a minimum amount to get done each reading session, and I applied the oil to my wrists and a bit at the nape of my neck and behind my ears before each study session.
I found the AD2 scent to be uplifting and energizing, but I wasn’t jittery like when I have lots of coffee or energy drink. I found it to be similar to the effect of listening to your favorite music to get geared up for a party or event, but easier to concentrate and focus on the reading than when music is playing. Unlike coffee, the oil did not disrupt my sleep; I think it actually may have enhanced it. I felt my work was better paced and felt less rushed.
I found the Scent2Health AD2 Oil to be helpful when I was overwhelmed with a work project and needed to focus quickly. I like the holistic approach of a natural product being applied externally to boost my focus and mental energy without getting me wired like too much coffee can do. The scent is pleasant; it is a light, pure, clean, crisp scent that is not overwhelming to others. It likely would not compete with most perfume scents and could be worn to a social event (such as a first date) or a job interview without seeming too fragrant for a public space. The scent is uplifting and did improve my mood during a work task I found arduous. If you consistently or intermittently have a short attention span, difficulty concentrating or focusing and at the same time feel hyperactive or anxious, a natural remedy such as SCENT2HEALTH AD2 Oil can be very helpful without the side effects of prescription medicines.
