Waterless Beauty

Waterless Beauty is cosmetic or skincare products that do not contain water in their formulations. Waterless Beauty also known as anhydrous beauty.

Water (or aqua) is typically the first ingredient seen on product ingredient lists, sometimes comprising more than half of the product volume.

Instead of water, Waterless Beauty uses oils, ferments, butters and oil-soluble active ingredients.

This creates a more eco-conscious and highly effective product.

Here are some of our favorite Waterless Beauty skincare and beauty products.

Pinch of Colour Healthy Lips Waterless Lip Oil in Pink Crush

March 18, 2022 · Leave a Comment

Seeking a pretty pink lippie that isn’t garish, immature, or just wrong is not an easy task. We have countless pink lip glosses that are pretty shades we are drawn to, but they are not flattering. Pinch of Colour Healthy Lips Waterless Lip Oil in Pink Crush is the perfect shade to provide just a hint of healthy color paired with hydrating ingredients.  More polished than a gloss but more natural-looking than a creamy lipstick, these lip oils provide a healthy lip look.
Pinch of Color Pink Crush is a guava pink - not too orange, not bubble gum

Pinch of Colour Healthy Lips Waterless Lip Oil in Pink Crush is a guava pink – not too orange, not bubble gum pink

The Problem of a Pretty Pink

A sophisticated yet flattering shade of pink is not so easy to find: it can’t be too bubble gum teenager pink. It can’t be so close to a nude that it doesn’t impart a peppy pop of color. It can’t be so vibrant that it lends towards a weird orange shade. Not hot fuschia, not pale red.

The perfect pink gloss is a tricky business. So we really like Pinch of Colour Pink Crush – it is a guava pink with a sheer yet enlivening touch of color.

Key Ingredients

Avocado Oil Ingredient featured on StyleChicks.com

Avocado Oil

Avocado Oil is 72% monounsaturated fatty acids. This is higher than Coconut or Grapeseed oils.

Avocado Oil mixes with water better than other oils. Avo oil readily penetrates into the skin. It absorbs instead of sitting atop the skin, making it an ideal moisturizer for dry, chapped lips.

Rosehip

Rosa Canina Seed Oil

Rosa Canina Seed Oil is an emollient. It contains tocopherols (vitamin E) and carotenoids (pro-vitamin A) that give it some nice antioxidant properties.

Rosa Canina Seed Oil is a moisturizing plant oil loaded with skin-nourishing fatty acids (linoleic acid – 51%, linolenic acid – 19%, and oleic acid – 20%).

Apricot oil

Apricot oil

Apricot Kernel Oil

An emollient that softens and smooths. Apricot oil is lighter than many other oils but still provides a great sheen.

It contains antioxidant vitamin E and nourishing fatty acids (mostly oleic acid 54-74%, linoleic acid 12-35%).

It has nourishing and moisturizing properties (as a high oleic oil it’s ideal for dry skin types) and is quite easily absorbed into the skin.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E softens the skin, making scar tissue more pliable and soft.

Macadamia Nut Oil

Macadamia Nut Oil is a native Australian nut.

Macadamia oil is very rich and contains many natural lipids. It is loaded with emollient and nourishing fatty acids. It’s a high oleic acid oil (50-67% oleic acid and only 0-5% linoleic acid) that makes it very emollient and ideal for dry skin types (and less ideal for acne-prone skin).

Macadamia uniquely contains high amounts of a rare fatty acid called palmitoleic acid (12-25%) that give Macadamia oil a “cushiony” feel. It’s also easily absorbed and makes the skin soft and supple.

What It does not contain

  • Water Free
  • Fragrance-Free
  • Paraben-Free
  • Non-Toxic

THE EXPERIENCE

Thanks to the VIOLA ROUGE Pick Your Perfect Shade Quiz, I found two lipsticks that are perfect for my skin tone. I can’t count the number of lipsticks I have tried over the years trying to find a shade like Blueberry Flower, but as soon as I applied it I knew it was what I have been looking for. The same is true of Status Symbol. Having found two shades that are an exact match for my skin’s undertones, I can’t wait to try the others that the quiz recommended for me!

The texture is silky, weightless, and glides on evenly and with precision.

It is transfer-resistant and long-wearing, but not at all drying. Quite the contrary in fact: I found it exceptionally hydrating all day long without the need to reapply.

Blueberry flower lipstick is a deep fuchsia pink with a satin finish. It works for Pink, Blue, & Olive skin undertones.

Skin Enhancing with Caley Cosmetics Tropical Melt

July 26, 2021 · Leave a Comment

We love multi-tasking products that truly work, so we adore Caley Cosmetics Tropical Melt. This decadent, clean balm serves as a hydrating cleanser, moisturizer, mask, and leave-on treatment. We love a thin layer as daily hydration and repairing treatment and a heavier layer as a soothing mask.

THE FORMULA

This clean formulation is loaded with powerhouse ingredients:

Bakuchiol is a natural retinol alternative. It is plant-based, non-irritating, and clinically proven statistically as effective as retinol. Bakuchiol improves photoaging, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation equally as well as retinol, but Bakuchiol is better tolerated.  It stimulates collagen within the skin, as well as significant improvement in wrinkles, pigmentation, elasticity, and firmness without the retinol-associated side effects. Bakuchiol inhibits melanin production on age spots and acne scars.

Kakadu Plum: a powerhouse antioxidant that neutralizes free radicals in the skin.

Probiotics: beneficial strains of live bacteria applied topically can reduce acne formation.

Crambe Abyssinica Seed Oil: forms the lipid barrier that holds moisture in skin cells, which keeps skin hydrated

Grape Seed Oil: soothing and nourishing to the skin and contains building blocks for collagen production

Sunflower Seed Oil: Retains moisture in the skin and is also rich in vitamin E

Jojoba Oil: regulates oily skin, removes impurities and flakes, reduces inflammation, and soothes skin

Apricot Seed Oil: has nourishing and moisturizing properties and is quite easily absorbed into the skin

Watermelon Seed Oil: an outstanding antioxidant and highly nutritive oil. It is high in unsaturated fatty acids, such as linoleic and oleic acids. Protect the skin from oxidative stress and photo-aging.

And several more incredible ingredients! This balm is incredibly well crafted!

THE EXPERIENCE

Immediately after applying this silky balm, my skin looked plump and absolutely glowed.

With continued use, fine lines have become unnoticeable, redness has reduced, and my skin texture is much smoother.
