Natural Skin Care Ingredients that Reduce Wrinkles

August 20, 2019 · Leave a Comment

Everyone starts to develop wrinkles as they grow older. Wrinkles are brought about by the skin losing its moisture and thickness. However, factors like stress, sun exposure, an imbalanced diet, and lack of sleep can result in people in their 20s already beginning to see wrinkles form around their eyes and forehead. While there are many over the counter skin creams promoting anti-aging properties, these often contain chemical ingredients you don’t want on your face. This plus the fact that skincare products take a toll on one’s monthly budget lead many to turn to natural remedies to reduce wrinkles on the face and neck. Below, we’ll discuss some common natural ingredients you can use to lessen unwanted wrinkles.

Echium Oil

Echium oil is derived from the seeds of the echium vulgare flower. The oil is known to be super rich in phospholipids. Pretty Me notes that echium oil is composed of fatty acids that can visibly reduce the appearance of lines on the face. It helps repair the skin’s protective barrier, which in turn improves hydration and reduces roughness. Moreover, it’s also been said to boost the production of collagen, making your skin more elastic and less prone to wrinkles. You can find echium oil in a variety of natural skincare products such as creams, oils, and serums.

Moringa Oil

Moringa oil contains more vitamin A than carrots. Moreover, it’s also rich in behenic acid, which contributes to smoothing properties found in skin moisturizers. Similar to echium oil, it contains high fatty acids and Vitamin C. This combination is what makes Moringa oil the perfect natural ingredient to reduce wrinkles, as it promotes collagen production and enhances skin elasticity.

You can find moringa oil being sold pure and unrefined, such as the one being offered by Prime Natural. Moringa oil is a secret anti-aging weapon you should have in your arsenal of skin care products.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil offers a variety of health benefits, and is known as a powerful tool for weight loss and increasing the metabolism when ingested. However, coconut oil also works wonders when applied to the skin. The oil promotes antimicrobial activity which protects against pimples and other skin infections. Moreover, Organic Facts explained how coconut oil delays the appearance of wrinkles and sagging skin. It has hydrating properties that prevent the dryness and flaking of skin. These moisturizing properties restore the skin’s elasticity to give you that natural glow. Coconut oil is usually found in many natural skin care products, but it can also be applied topically on its own.

Egg Whites

Egg whites are not found in many skincare products but are often used as a home remedy. Dr. Debra Rose Wilson states that egg white face masks are a staple for DIY skincare. Egg whites are made up mostly of protein, which has skin-tightening properties. Some studies have proven that using egg white face masks increases the production of collagen, making the skin smoother and more elastic.

To make a face mask, blend one egg white and six to seven grapes until smooth. On a freshly washed face, use a cotton pad or facial brush to apply the mixture in an upward motion. Leave the mask on for 15 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water. However, it’s important to keep in mind that people who are allergic to eggs should avoid using egg whites for wrinkle prevention at all costs.
