New Product: Benefit Cosmetics Bella Bamba

There’s a gorgeous new blush that I’m dying to try from Benefit Cosmetics – Bella Bamba. It’s a watermelon pink with gold undertones – from the look of it on Sephora’s site, it looks like a beautiful, universally flattering color. It kind of reminds me of the color I aim for when I mix together three different Nars blushes for that perfect pinch of color. Try it high on the cheekbone almost near the temple- it will draw the eye up and make the top of your cheekbone seem fabulously sculpted.

Red Lips Part II: Bold and Bright

If you are looking for a red lipstick to light up your whole face, try the relatively newÂ Stila Acai Crush Lip and Cheek Stain. With any stain, of course, you will want to practice, but especially so with the Stila Crush line – I love them, but the brush can be a bit unwieldy if you don’t take the time to get the layering down, and once it dries it stays in placeÂ no matter what (which is a good thing most of the time, bad if you goof), so precise application is important. Once you get the hang of application, you can do one thin layer for a very wearable ruby red, or two layers for a beautiful bright red. Winter Skin Saver: Dermatone Skin Protector Pommade

I dare say that those of us in New England are snowed in for a day or two.

When the forecast includes “Freezing Fog” (sounds like a Marvel Comics character), you know it will be bitter cold for awhile…and that my skin will be red and raw next time I have to venture outdoors.
