Sigi Skin Kaleanser Hypoallergenic Vegan Wash

February 3, 2020 · 14 Comments

We knew eating Kale was good for you, but who knew it could be so beneficial as a face wash? We found out when we tried Sigi Skin Kaleanser Hypoallergenic Vegan Wash, an exceptionally gentle but effective wash that cleanses skin without stripping it.

Sigi Skin Kaleanser Hypoallergenic Vegan Wash

Why Kale

Kale is gentle but nutrient rich.

Let’s take a closer look at what Kale and the other natural ingredients in this formula can do.

Ingredient Spotlight

Kale for skin

Kale

Kale

Brassica Oleracea Acephala Leaf , AKA Kale, contains Vitamins A, B, C, and K, antioxidants and phytonutrients. Topical kale application promotes collagen production, tightens pores, detoxifies the skin and fights free-radical damage

Eucalyptus Definition on on StyleChicks

Eucalyptus

Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil

Eucalyptus Oil is purifying, cleansing, clarifying, and immune-boosting oil. It reduce harmful bacteria and infections on contact. It can be a strong oil, but is well buffered and delicate within this formulation for benefit without stripping or stinging skin.

Bergamot fruit

Bergamot

Citrus Aurantium Bergamia, better known as Bergamot has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Linalool and carvacrol are compounds in bergamot oil. Both are excellent anti-inflammatories for skin issues such as acne and skin irritation.[1]

Castor seed oil is a humectant

Castor seed oil is a humectant

Castor

Castor Oil is a humectant. It draws moisture into the skin, making it plumper and hydrated. It softens skin with its’ high Vitamin E content. Castor Oil gently treats acne without drying the skin.

Castor Oil is typically too thick and sticky to apply directly to the skin, but in this formulation, it works effectively with no residue or unpleasant scent.

Glycerin

Glycerin helps skin retain moisture.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E oil softens skin, making scars pliable again. It reduces wrinkles with its’ humectant abilities.

OUR SIGI SKIN EXPERIENCE

I first used it one morning, as I mentally was going through my to-do list and generally distracted. I had patch-tested it for reactions a few days prior, so I knew it had a nice jelly-like texture and subtle Eucalyptus scent.

But then as I applied it to my face and started massaging it in, my mental to-do list melted away as I realized that the texture and sensation of this face wash was a world of difference from my standard cleansers, all of which I considered pretty great.

I literally said “OH WOW!” out loud.

So…continuing the recommended 120 seconds of face washing felt like a glorious but fleeting spa treatment. I delighted in making small, gentle circles around my face with my fingertips

Another surprise came when I washed it off: despite the medium-jelly consistency, it washed off clean and without any scrubbing. My face was truly clean: no vestiges of last night’s skincare routine.

And for as gentle as the cleanser is, it had taken off a mild layer of dead skin that was leaving my skin a little dull. My face had a healthy glow, which is a great way to start a morning!

As I went about my morning routine, I noticed something interesting, even though my skin felt truly and deeply clean, it wasn’t at all tight feeling. That is usually the trade-off: there are a lot of good cleansers that give you a deep clean feeling, but also strip your skin of moisture and leave it feeling tight. Not so with Sigi Skin Kaleanser Face Wash. My skin was moisturized and so, so soft.

How is it for taking off eye makeup?

I usually use an oil first to gently dissolve eye makeup, but Kaleanser gets every last smudge off makeup off my face after! Which is really impressive for a gentle cleanser.

I never knew that Bergamot looked like that. What a funny little fruit – but it smells great! 🙂

That is impressive for kale to do so much for skin topically. You usually need a really strong active to do all that!

We were impressed as well when we researched what Kale can do as an ingredient in a topical product. And we were more impressed when we saw the results ourselves!

A nice long steamy shower with eucalyptus is wonderful! This cleanser has that same kind of refreshing, energizing, yet relaxing feel to it. It isn’t overpowering, it just feels good!
