Better Beauty Sleep with Jade
Luxear Cooling Blanket and Pillowcase

July 7, 2020 · 2 Comments

Being cool is an important part of restful sleep. Do you tend to kick off the covers at night? Then consider a cooling blanket. Frequently flip your pillow often for the “cool side”? Then you will love a cooling pillowcase. Luxear Cooling Blanket and Pillowcase use Japanese technology that draws away body heat to stay cool no matter the ambient temperature.

In the summer, I want more than a sheet, but don’t want a full blanket or throw. In early fall, with the change in weather, some nights are chilly while others are hot.

WHY A COOLING BLANKET & PILLOWCASE IMPROVES SLEEP

Restful sleep requires being cool enough to sleep comfortably.

Being too warm or too cool interferes with quality sleep.  Most people sleep best with adequate air circulation and when the room is about 65° F.  But we can’t always control these factors.

And ideally, bed covers should be generously sized enough to turn comfortably and stretch without becoming tangled.

About the Luxear Cooling Blanket and Pillowcases

Luxear uses a special fabric combination that always feels cool to the touch.

How does it work?

The Science of Being Cool

This fabric feels cool against the skin because it uses special Japanese Q-Max 0.4 Cooling Fibers to absorb body heat.

Q-max value is used to evaluate whether the skin feels “cold” or “warm” when touching the fabric. Higher numbers transfer body heater faster.  The higher the number, the cooler the fabric feels.  Most bedding is 0.2  / cm. The primary fabric in the blanket is greater than  0.4 / cm.

This cooling blanket is made of superior cooling fabric [Q-Max >0.4] and jade particles. And the pillowcases are extra cool with a Japanese Q-Max 0.55!!

Two pillowcase sides

Smooth silky and breathable fabric is cool on the skin while being gentle to skin and hair

Adding to mica nylon and PE cold-sensing fiber enhances the cold feeling of the fabric. The blanket and pillowcases are a blend of 80% mica nylon and 20% polyethylene (PE) to create an advanced cooling fabric.

Mica fabric

Research shows that Mica fabric particle size and particle size distribution can give the fabric superior cooling properties. [1]

Jade Masterbatch

Jade Masterbatch is blended with the Mica fabric. You cannot see or feel them within the fabric. These Jade particles further enhance the cool feeling against the skin.

As you may know from your jade skin roller, jade stays cool when in contact with the skin.  It also stays chilled after being in the refrigerator. Likewise, if you put this blanket or pillowcases directly near an air conditioner, it gets even cooler and remains cool.

Features

These blanket and pillowcases have:

Smooth Seams with sturdy stitching

Smooth Seams

The rounded seams are not scratchy, stiff, or irritating.  I don’t even notice them against my skin.

The stitching is sturdy and does not fray in the wash.

There are no loose threads or uneven stitches,

Fabric Weave

Japanese Cooling Technology Fabric

The cooling property is measured by Q-Max.  This blanket and pillowcase is Q-Max 0.4. Regular fiber is 0.2.

It uses a combination of 80% mica nylon, 20% polyethylene top side to keep you cool.

Moisture Wicking

Not only does the fabric keep you cool, it keeps you dry.

Ideal for hot, humid weather or if you personally are excessively warm from fever or even hot flashes.

Double-sided fabric

Double-Sided Fabric

The top is cooling, the underside is 100% cotton.

It is a breathable and comfortable fabric with no odor.

The fabrics are hypoallergenic and safe for small children.

OEKO-TEX 100

The blanket and pillowcases both carry the Oeko-Tex 100 label.

The Oeko-TEX website says it best:   “If a textile article carries the STANDARD 100 label, you can be certain that every component of this article, i.e. every thread, button and other accessories, has been tested for harmful substances and that the article therefore is harmless in human ecological terms.” [2]

Hidden zipper on pillowcases

Hidden Zippers

The pillowcases have hidden zippers to keep the pillow in place.

The zippers do not catch hair or scratch as they are tucked inside the lining.

I cannot feel them on the pillow if even I am pressed against the side of the pillow with the zipper.

Machine Washable

Care Instructions

The blanket requires no special care and can be laundered in the washing machine and hung to dry.

No ironing is necessary.

Even after the blanket has been crumpled up in a pile, it is smooth without wrinkles when the bed is made.

It stays fresh-looking even when packed in a bag for travel.

Generously Sized

The blanket accommodates a  queen or king bed at 78″ X 86″.

The pillowcases are available in both standard and queen-sized.

Uses

  • For couples who don’t agree on the temperature and one is always too hot or too cold
  • A light blanket for the couch
  • Makes for an excellent housewarming gift, or for a wedding or college student dorm.
  • Ideal for a guest bedroom
  • Light and compact enough to pack for travel. Stay comfortable in the car or on a plane when you may need a light blanket for chilly air conditioning.

The Experience

It is cool to the touch even when the ambient is hot.  It has a “my-favorite-soft jersey t-shirt” kind of feel – not heavy or scratchy, drapes with just a bit of stretch. It is cooling so even on a very hot night it is easier to get comfortable and fall asleep.

There are no scratchy edges. It is smooth to the touch.

I love the cool pillowcase – it is soft on the skin and always feels like the “cool side” of the pillow. No more waking up during the night to flip my pillow to the “cool side”. It is always smooth and cool.
