Let’s take a look at the soothing ingredients in this spa treat:

The Ingredients

Lutein

Lutein is a carotenoid that comes from marigolds.

We may best know it as an “eye vitamin” but Lutein also promotes the regeneration of new tissue and soothes damaged skin.

Alpha Lipoic Acid

Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) improves cellular energy production and reduces inflammation, a major cause of aging. It gives skin a natural glow. It also helps the skin optimize the use of Vitamin C and CoQ10.

ALA improves cellular energy production, making skin look brighter. ALA is a powerful antioxidant.

Shea butter definition at StyleChicks.com Defining Beauty Glossary

Shea Butter

Butyrospermum Parkii

Better known as Shea Butter.

Shea Butter treats acne scars, including cystic acne dark scars.

Shea can feed the skin and overhaul the skin texture, even on deep burns.

Kaolin

Kaolin is a natural clay that absorbs oil and removes impurities. Ideal for treating oily and acne-prone skin.

Olives benefits the skin

Squalane comes from olives

Squalane

Squalane comes from Squalene. Vegan squalane comes from olives. It has all the benefits of Olive Oil but without greasiness.

Squalane mimics the skin’s natural sebum and makes the skin barrier extra smooth and soft. It is suitable for even highly sensitive or irritated skin.

Tocopherol

A potent form of Vitamin E used in skincare. Tocopherol softens skin texture and reduces acne scars. Vitamin E makes rough, sunburned, scarred or otherwise damaged skin soft and pliable. Once the skin is pliable, other treating ingredients can work their magic.

Cetyl Alcohol

C-16 fatty alcohol is one of the “good alcohols” as it is moisture binding.

Ubiquinone

COQ10 is a topical vitamin in skincare to improve skin texture and elastin production.

Co-Enzyme Q-10 is an antioxidant naturally present in the skin but decreases with sun exposure.

Ubiquinone is necessary for collagen synthesis.

Glycerin attracts moisture

Glycerin

Glycerin is a natural, vegetable-derived humectant for the skin. It helps to retain moisture.

Retinyl Palmitate

A form of Vitamin A. Retinyl palmitate is an antioxidant found naturally in our skin, a natural form of Vitamin A that helps with wrinkles and fine lines.

It also boosts collagen production to make skin look younger and plumper. And it promotes cell regeneration.

If you are unable to tolerate wearing retinol overnight, this masque is a great way to still get the benefits without irritation.

Biotin

Biotin is Vitamin H. Biotin aids skin hydration, moisturizes, and restores dry skin. It also helps fight acne. It makes skin glow, reduces redness and skin cracking.

The Experience

In about ten minutes, EmerginC Vitality Mask provides softer, hydrated skin that feels super smooth. Skin left feeling tight from too much cold, wind, or sun feels balanced again.  All you need is a small scoop to get spa results from home!

Twice weekly seems the right balance for my dry, sensitive skin to become soft, glowing skin.
