My skin is sensitive, so I invariably get at least some skin irritation when shaving. While part of this irritation is due to the hair removal process itself, some of it is also a reaction to the shaving lotion I have used. It’s hard to find a shaving lotion that enables a close shave and is also made of natural ingredients yet still leaves skin soft and hydrated.

Andavi All Natural Shaving Lotion is a cut above traditional shaving lotions and creams. It is a highly hydrating and deeply nourishing cream that creates a full, rich lather that provides a smooth shaving surface. ANDAVI ALL NATURAL SHAVING LOTION FIRST IMPRESSIONS
There is a lubricated feel that does not leave a sticky or gummy residue, yet it produces a creamy, rich lather with a smooth, feel that does not have a sticky pull or drag when the razor is used. The smell is a fresh, pleasant scent, suitable for men or women to use. No one ingredient is particularly overwhelming in scent; the Aloe Vera is notable.

USE
I applied the lotion generously, the amount in my hand as seen in the photo is what I applied to one leg while shaving. It lathered well and made for a smooth surface. I did not cut my legs while shaving, even though I used a duller razor than normal. I also tried shaving with a straight razor, which often gives me razor burn, but I did not experience that with the lotion. It does not sting even on preexisting scrapes or cuts. It rinses off cleanly after use without soap and does not leave a residue or any lingering after scent. I did not experience any razor burn, redness or little bumps even over already existing skin irritations from the previous time I shaved with a competitor brand lotion.

Andavi All Natural Shaving Lotion is an all-natural shaving lotion that combines Aloe Vera with several moisturizing, nourishing, hydrating natural ingredients to provide a close moisturizing shave. BENEFITS OF ALOE VERA
Many of us are familiar with having an Aloe Vera plant in the kitchen to treat minor skin cuts, abrasions, and burns. It provides a protective barrier while shaving that washes off cleanly. Aloe Vera is highly moisturizing and nourishing to the skin, it has much of the nutrients needed for skin to be properly “fed.” But not all products that list Aloe Vera as an ingredient contain the actual beneficial part of the Aloe Vera plant. Other ingredients include moisturizing, hydrating, nourishing ingredients, ingredients to protect and heal and ingredients to make for a better shaving experience. These are:

  • Evening Primrose Extract is used for skin issues like acne, wrinkles, and eczema. Full of Omega-6 fatty acids, it keeps hair and skin healthy.
  • Meadowfoam Seed Oil is a very stable oil that lubricates and can stay on the skin without leaving a residue after it is rinsed off.
  • Green Tea Leaf Extract is an antioxidant that soothes skin and reduces inflammation.
  • Honey antibacterial and moisturizing.
  • Jojoba Seed Oil is a stable carrier oil that treats sores and wounds. A non-greasy, non-comedogenic oil that is similar to human sebum in structure, it is often seen in skincare to soothe and smooth skin.
  • Coconut Oil is the go-to beauty ingredient of late, and for a good reason. It soothes the skin, provides an emollient base for other ingredients and is nourishing. It also helps reduce inflammation.
  • Argan Nut Oil is another beauty favorite that deeply hydrates scaly skin, is an anti-oxidant and has fatty acids that are like a superfood for skin.
  • Arrowroot Powder is a skin softener that heals burns and abrasions. It also works to thicken the consistency of a product.
  • Comfrey Leaf Extract speeds wound healing.
  • Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract is used to treat minor cuts, burns, and skin irritation.
  • Tea Tree Leaf Oil, Cinnamon Extract and Peppermint Oil have Antiseptic and Healing properties.

This combination of ingredients helps make shaving easier, reduces any irritation, cuts or abrasions, and leaves skin soft and smooth.

CONCLUSION: Andavi All Natural Shaving Lotion is an all-natural lotion with a high quantity of quality Aloe Vera and a host of other skin soothing, nourishing, softening, and healing ingredients that make for a rich lather, lubricated surface, close shave. It smells good and washes off easily. I did not experience any bumps redness, scrapes, or razor burn, even when shaving with a straight razor. My legs were left soft. Suitable for men or women, skin is razor burn free and left in better condition than before shaving. Recommended!

How would you like to drink organic liquid dark chocolate all day, not gain an ounce, get your vitamins and a massive amount of antioxidants?

Yes? Me too.

So I was thrilled to learn about MiCacao Loose Cacao Tea. When we think of chocolate or cocoa, we tend to think of what comes from the inner nib of the bean. MiCacao Loose Cacao Tea is made of the Cacao Shells, which are organic. This is an herbal Chocolate loose tea that is nothing but the organic, gluten-free, vegan Cacao shells. There are no preservatives, artificial flavoring, or starches. It is caffeine free as well.

The shells have a ton of health ingredients, including a massive amount of anti-oxidants and minerals including Iron, Zinc, and Magnesium.

You might be wondering why the health benefits are so much better than from the actual cacao nib. Think about it: in fruits, the nutrients tend to be more concentrated in the rind. For instance, orange rind has much more Vitamin C than the part we typically eat. The oils that flavor many dishes come from the rind. The same applies to the Cacao Shell: it contains a concentrated amount of all the good things we hear about eating dark chocolate. For instance, they provide 40 times the number of antioxidants as Blueberries.

The shell “leaves” themselves are absolutely beautiful, a rich golden variegated brown. When hot water is added, the leaves dance in the water, giving a kaleidoscope-like show until they settle to the bottom of the pot to brew.

To brew the tea, add one to two tablespoons into boiling water and let it steep for about five minutes. I found that it doesn’t get bitter if you let it brew for longer, but the flavor does get more intense. So you can adjust it to taste.

The tea has a dark chocolate top note that is very reminiscent of intense organic chocolate and a buttery chocolate aftertaste. It has a bit of a wine note, but not overly sweet. It is a complex and smooth taste that could easily be enjoyed at any time, from a treat in the morning to a special treat for your guests at a wedding.

I’m a purist when it comes to tea: I like it straight, no milk or sugar. But both can make it a richer taste. I tried it with just a hint of vanilla, and that brought out the chocolate flavor a bit more. If you want to make it an after dinner “dessert tea,” try adding a bit of dark chocolate liqueur for a truly sublime cup.

I found that the tea did provide me with a decent amount of sustained energy without the dreaded caffeine slump. This is likely because Cacao contains theobromine, which is a mild stimulant found in chocolate and in regular tea. Theobromine (which translated, means “food of the gods”) has some impressive health effects as well: studies have shown that it can increase the hardness of tooth enamel, and there is promising research that shows that it might help prevent certain cancers. Of course, if you are sensitive to the stimulant effect of chocolate or black tea, you may want to ask your doctor if theobromine is safe for you.

I have had dark undereye circles as long I can remember, even as a young child. People tend to ask if I am tired because of my dark circles. It is difficult to conceal the darkness with makeup very well, and even if I do, there is still the puffy undereye bag. I have tried various products over time, and while some products do lighten to a degree, nothing seems to be able to eradicate them.

OPTIONS FOR DARK, PUFFY UNDEREYES
The best option I have found is a three-prong attack: reduce the puffiness, find a good light deflecting product to visually obscure the darkness, and make sure that product is creamy enough to apply concealer on top, yet not so greasy that my makeup wears off. And when possible, contain anti-aging ingredients to combat wrinkles and sagging.

A tall order indeed.

APPLICATION AND USE
A notable detail is this is a large bottle for an eye product, almost 2-3 times the size of other eye products I own. And you only need less than half a pump for both eyes. I also like to use some on the side of my eyes up to my temples.

It is very creamy but melts in beautifully without a residue or greasy feel. I wait about five minutes just to allow it to absorb and shrink the eye bag before applying any concealer or foundation on top.

RESULTS:
My left undereye bag is naturally larger and longer than the right, it seems puffier and makes my eyes look uneven. I was pleased to see about 10 minutes after product application that the extra puffiness on the left was dissipated, which made my eyes look even! Nice! It also left a lovely light deflecting property on the skin that was both dewy looking and obscured any fine lines around my eyes. My makeup applied smoothly atop the cream and did not melt quickly. I was very pleased!

CONCLUSION: I am excited to see such a powerful group of ingredients to make a nourishing eye cream, as well as to have a product in my beauty arsenal that can eradicate under eye puffiness so quickly and thoroughly. My circles are especially dark, so the dual approach of plumping fine lines and wrinkles while deflecting the light upon application combined with long-term benefits of the fruit cocktail including Vitamin C and other helpful anti-aging ingredients makes the best of a life-long dark circle problem. Organic Caffeine Eye Whip Cream leaves undereye skin looking good enough to go out without even concealer, which for me is a pretty big deal.
