I have to say, I’m a little shocked to see the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils 15 Year Anniversary Collection.

Which is not to say it isn’t a fantastic collection, it’s just that if I got this kit, it would be a reminder every morning as I put on my eyeliner that I’ve been out of high school…you guessed it…15 years.

See, when I was a fresh faced 17 year old who didn’t need under eye concealer, a fantastic brand named Urban Decay came on the scene. Thanks to them, freshman year I alternated between pinky-purple (called Asphyxia) and classic red nails (I’m thinking it was called Kiss, but it might have been Trip – I had both), and discovered that shimmery makeup can be a good thing. Oh, and made me smell like Cake Batter with their sparkly Body Powder.

Fast forward 15 years and UD is still a part of my regular makeup routine, indicated by the fact we let you know everytime a new Primer Potion is available…usually with an overabundance of enthusiam…

Perking up winter skin: Bobbi Brown Pretty Powerful Palette

Does this palette from Bobby Brown make you think of Spring? Me too, but the shades are actually just right for the cold winter days that stand between us and the daffodils.

While heavy, dark makeup can be very tempting, there is the danger of a fabulously deep color looking garish against pale winter skin. A good goal is to brighten and illuminate your face, and then if you want to add a deeper color to one feature (eg dark rimmed eyes), you will still have a warm weather glow.

The pink blush may seem a bit bright in the pan, but on your skin, it will look like you have an inner glow and natural color to your cheeks. What I love about this color blush is that it is universally flattering – whether you look like you haven’t seen the sun in months to you look like you just stepped off the plane from a tropical island, it will work beautifully. Same with the eyeshadows – there is a highlighter, lid and liner color that will work on everyone.

I have a pretty pink Clarisonic Classic. I love it. But everytime a new color Clarisonic comes out, regardless of color, I always think “Ooo, I want that color too!!!!!” (I’ve restrained myself – I only have the one….)
