SEPHORA COLLECTION Instant Depuffing Roll-On Gel

January 7, 2011 · Leave a Comment

Ever wake up and your eyes just look…meh? You probably have a few factors going on – dullness, puffiness, and dryness. On those mornings, you might want to try the new SEPHORA COLLECTION Instant Depuffing Roll-On Gel. While it has the micro-massaging beads on the tip are reminiscent of a lot of depuffing products on the market now, this formula tackles dull and puffy skin with moisture, not ingredients like caffeine. While caffeine can be incredibly effective to take down puffiness, it can dry out your skin if you use it regularly. And if your skin is already starting out dry, you are just going to look drier, not wide awake.

The formula contains HydroSenn+, a plant derived moisturizer that continuously moisturizes during the day. It also has light-reflecting pigments to make you look more awake, and red vine leaf extract gets to work on dark circles. I think it’s great that it’s a fragrance free formula – whether your eyes are sensitive or not, adding fragrance to irritated eye skin never works out well in my experience.

I’m excited to try this and a few other of the new products from the SEPHORA COLLECTION skincare line. When I pick them up I’ll be sure to let you know what I think!

New Product: Benefit Cosmetics Bella Bamba

December 31, 2010 · Leave a Comment

There’s a gorgeous new blush that I’m dying to try from Benefit Cosmetics – Bella Bamba. It’s a watermelon pink with gold undertones – from the look of it on Sephora’s site, it looks like a beautiful, universally flattering color. It kind of reminds me of the color I aim for when I mix together three different Nars blushes for that perfect pinch of color. Try it high on the cheekbone almost near the temple- it will draw the eye up and make the top of your cheekbone seem fabulously sculpted.

Find Benefit Cosmetics Bella Bamba at Sephora.com. I can’t wait to try it!

Summery Coral Nails…

May 24, 2010 · Leave a Comment

Most of the time, I wear a pretty safe pinky-nude nail color, but when it gets warm, I like to try a bright coral color. Not a grandma-colored orange (with all due respect to grandmas…), but a true coral – which is flattering to all. Here are three to give a whirl when you feel like making your nails a bit more tropical:

Boldest: SEPHORA by OPI Nail Colour Caliente Coral

While the description calls it an orange-red, it looks more pumpkiny on my screen. Bold now, a little more tame when Fall comes.

Brave: ‘Tini Beauty Straight Up Nail Lacquer in Mai Tai (This one is Style Chick Courtney approved!)

We love Nailtini colors – and Mai Tai is fruity and fun while still being completely wearable. And don’t worry about chips – my nails grew out before they chipped.

Tame: Zoya Nail Polish in Willow

If you aren’t completely convinced you are ready to wear coral, try a color like Willow. It’s more of a coral tint to a soft pink. I’m definitely adding this to my list of colors to get for summer. Bonus points for having a subtle silver shimmer!
