How to Best Use Sweet Almond Oil for Hair Benefits

July 25, 2021 · Leave a Comment

HOW-TO GUIDE: Sweet Almond Oil seems like a gentle carrier oil and sweet smelling moisturizer for skin. But its’ true power lies in its’ ability to revitalized dry, brittle hair.

Read on about how to use Sweet Almond Oil can help restore your hair.

Sweet Almond Oil can restore dry hair

Sweet Almond

What are Sweet Almond Oil Hair Benefits?

Here are some of the many hair benefits to this versatile oil:

  • Sweet Almond Oil is hair reparative and softening.  Sweet Almond Oil is excellent for brittle hair, damaged hair, dry and over-processed hair.
  • It contains proteins and vitamins A, B, D, and E, Omega-3 fatty acids, phospholipids, and magnesium.
  • Amino acids and proteins strengthen the hair strand and smooth the appearance of the hair cuticle.
  • It nourishes and strengthens damaged hair, making it silky and shiny again.
  • Sweet Almond Oil also gives hair a natural sheen
  • It also reduces hair loss and makes hair more elastic.
  • It protects delicate hair strands and combats brittleness. Brittleness results in breakage and is a huge barrier to meaningful hair growth.
  • Almond Oil is also a carrier oil, meaning it helps other oils and ingredients penetrate and absorb.

How to Best Use Sweet Almond Oil for Hair

  1. Warm the oil in a double boiler, or pour a few tablespoons into a cup. It should be warm to the touch but not boiling.
  2. Rub in between the palms and gently smooth down the length of the hair, focusing on the ends.
  3. It can be applied to dry or damp hair. Applying to damp hair helps seal in moisture.
  4. Hair doesn’t need to be drenched with the oil to benefit the hair.
  5. Sweet Almond Oil can also provide a moisturizing scalp treatment when applied for 10 minutes to a few hours.
  6. Wash out with a gentle shampoo.

Sweet Almond Oil is a light oil, and blends well with other helpful hair oils such as Olive and Rice Bran Oil.

Sweet Almond Oil to Grow Brows & Lashes

A blend of sweet almond oil and castor seed oil makes an excellent eyelash and eyebrow treatment.

The almond cuts the stickiness of castor and the respective nutrients are complimentary to optimal hydration.

HOW TO BEST USE FOR LASH GROWTH

We like to use the empty mascara tubes available at places like Amazon or Beauty stores and fill them with about 60% sweet almond oil and 40% castor oil.

If possible, we prefer the best quality food grade organic oils especially when used around the eyes.

Apply very sparsely daily for natural enhancement and hydration to brows and lashes.

Do You Know The 5 Most Iconic Ray-Ban Sunglasses?

July 25, 2021 · Leave a Comment

Ray-Ban is undoubtedly one of the most easily recognizable sunglasses brands in the whole world. Not only because of their iconic lens shapes and sleek colourways but also because of the functionality of their shades.

That’s why since its founding in 1937, Ray-Ban sunglasses Australia never failed their most loyal fans and attracted newer followers. They do this by constantly challenging the norms and introducing game-changing styles while retaining the functionality and comfortability that we loved about Ray-Bans in the first place.

Over the years, Ray-ban had produced some of the most iconic sunglasses that stood the test of time. The enduring styles of these models are so evident that you’ll see people wearing these bad boys even decades after their release. Below are only some of them:

1. Iconic Round Ray-Ban

These sunglasses are the epitome of both retro and timeless. The iconic pair of Round Ray-Ban screams hippy in all its fine edges and got the attention of numerous legendary musicians.

With an option of 50mm or 47mm lenses, this model rose to popularity and became one of the go-to sunglasses for both casual and more outgoing events.

There’s also a lot of options for lenses that you can choose from. You can go for clear, polarized, or mirror lenses. Whichever suits your style!

2. Erika Ray-Ban

Whatever outfit or style you’re going for, Erika Ray-Ban can complement it flawlessly. This is mainly because of its almost unlimited range of colourways. You can go either full-on classy mode with its black variety or go hip and funky with their more colourful options like violet or baby blue.

If you’ll look into it closely, the Erikas look slightly similar to a more popular model, the Wayfarers. The former is only less bulky than the wayfarers to make it look much daintier.

But chunky or not, Ray-Ban Erika is certainly one of the most beautiful pairs of sunnies you can wear!

3. Ray-Ban Wayfarers

The Wayfarers has one of the most recognizable frames in the sunglasses industry.

From James Dean to Audrey Hepburn, iconic Hollywood stars wore these equally iconic shades in some of their movies. This approval from stars easily turned these frames into legendary sunnies.

But more than its style and Hollywood-caliber fashion, the Wayfarers are also functional gears. This square-shaped model can protect you from harmful UV rays so you can keep your eyes in tiptop shape.

4. Ray-Ban Clubmaster

This 1950s-inspired model is a bespoke sunglasses that screams class and vintage beauty. The Clubmaster has clear lenses fixed on a rectangular frame and adjustable temples and nose pads, which make it easier to love.

Compared to the Wayfarers, the Clubmaster guarantees a more advanced UV protection due to the modern technology incorporated with the design.

No wonder it’s one of the best-selling sunglasses in all of the sunglasses in history!

5. Aviators

Last and certainly not least. It’s not a Ray-Ban list without the Aviators. After all, this is the model that started everything.

For those who are not familiar with the Ray-Ban history, the Aviators are the actual prototypes of Ray-Ban’s legacy. It was the first sunglasses made by the company. It was originally meant for aviation use.

The military tapped the original makers of Ray-Ban to manufacture sunglasses for their pilots.

The goal was to produce shades that can cut down the glare that the pilots suffer from in the air. Fortunately, they delivered. Then this model skyrocketed from there.

And thanks to that, we still have the Aviators today. This only goes to show that with the right people and goals at the right time, an icon can be made.

Trigger Point Dry Needling What You Should Know

July 25, 2021 · Leave a Comment

Trigger Point Dry Needling Overview.

If you are planning to undergo trigger point needling just because a friend told you it was effective, think twice. This invasive treatment is not as easy as it sounds. That’s why before undertaking it, like any other medical treatment, you must fully understand the process and it must be done only with your doctor’s recommendation.

For you to understand the process of pricking your body with dry needles, you must understand, first, the trigger points.

What are trigger points?

A trigger point also called the “knot” is a taut band within a muscle. It’s often associated with localised pain, especially when the trigger point is massaged.

According to the experts, these trigger points are formed due to acute traumas and repeated microtraumas in the muscle fibres. It can happen everywhere in the body, especially in the neck, shoulders, legs, and feet.

What exactly is trigger point dry needling?

This treatment involves jabbing some acupuncture needles into your trigger points. The acupuncture needle used in the treatment is not as big as the needles used in vaccination or blood test sampling. It’s normally smaller in diameter.

After inserting, this needle remains in situ (or in the muscle) for about 5-10 minutes.

The goal here is to ease up the muscle knots by dry needling to reduce the pain that you experience. This sense of relief is also called the analgesic effect.

Aside from that, it also promotes a healthy blood flow to the jabbed area and helps eliminate the chemicals responsible for the pain.

What does the treatment feel like?

There’s no general feeling when it comes to dry needling. Most people will feel some twitch right after the jab which can be uncomfortable eventually. While others will not notice it at all.

Some patients also might experience heavy aching on the targeted muscles, which is totally normal. So if ever you experience this, don’t worry. You’re perfectly alright.

The pain or tenderness that you might feel in the targeted area will eventually subside in a day or two. During this period, it’s recommended that you refrain from doing any intense or aggravating activities until the pain is gone.

While waiting for the pain to settle, you can use heat packs to help you manage the pain. Also, make sure to drink lots of fluids after the treatment.

Do you actually need trigger point dry needling?

Just because you felt pain somewhere in your neck, it doesn’t mean that you have to undertake this treatment right away. Consult your doctors first about this process if you experience:

  • Tight muscles or muscle groups
  • Recurring or chronic pains
  • Loss of motion or diminished range of motion due to tightness
  • Abnormalities in posture or other bodily functions

Where should you get this treatment?

If you happen to be suffering from chronic pains in your legs and feet, the first thing you should do is to have them checked by the expert podiatrists at Watsonia Podiatry.

The initial consultation will normally cost you around $86 – $96. Which is a fair amount considering the complexity of the treatment.

The foot doctors in the Watsonia Podiatry are trained in dry needling from your knees to your toes. That’s over 20 muscles right there! Just within your feet, 4 layers of muscles can be needled!

But you don’t have to worry because these podiatrists know the ins and outs of the muscle structures in your lower extremities. Simply put, you’re in good hands.

And there you have it! These are only some of the things that you need to know before undertaking this treatment. If your feet and legs are in pain right now, don’t hesitate to call your podiatrists!

5 New Approaches to Natural Remedies

July 18, 2021 · Leave a Comment

Everything we need is in its purest form in nature. While modern medicine has improved our lives by leaps and bounds, there are some things that are simply more effective when they’re natural. Natural remedies mean that you don’t have to deal with harmful chemical irritants or unknown fillers. They’re also more environmentally friendly, so you can have all the benefits with none of the guilt.

Natural remedies can sound a bit old-fashioned, but there are actually tons of new ways that people are adapting natural solutions to fit the present. Here are five of our favorite new approaches to bringing the power of nature into the 21st century.

Ojai Energetics CBD Coconut Oil

We’ve previously done an in-depth review of the Ojai Energetics CBD Coconut Oil, and it’s still one of our favorites. Coconut oil has a ton of benefits for your skin, hair, and overall health. Combine that with CBD oil, which helps beat acne and wrinkles, and you’ve got a recipe for success.

This CBD Coconut Oil absorbs well when applied, and doesn’t have that sticky, heavy feeling that other oil-based creams do. It also lessens acne inflammation, so if these are big concerns for you then you should definitely pick up a jar.

Brightcore ACV Gummies

More than being a tangy option for salad dressing, apple cider vinegar has a ton of health benefits. Consuming diluted ACV can help improve your immune system, boost your energy, and even promote digestive health. When applied topically, it can soothe sunburn and other skin concerns, as well as lessen acne.

Unfortunately, because ACV is a light acid consuming it in liquid form even diluted can weaken tooth enamel and irritate your esophagus. Plus, it just doesn’t taste that good. The solution? Gummy form, of course.Brightcore’s ACV gummies are made from organic apples and are easy to transport, store, and take, giving you the benefits of ACV without the nasty side effects. If you need a refreshing, healthy treat, you’ll want to stock up on this.

Four Sigmatic Mushroom Coffee

Keeping your energy levels up is important, especially when you’re busy. Coffee is the easiest way to do this, but the downside is that eventually you’ll have to deal with the crash. Luckily, Four Sigmatic have put together an expert team to create a coffee that boosts energy and mental clarity without the caffeine headaches and crash.

The result of their efforts is the Four Sigmatic Mushroom Coffee, a functional food that adds adaptogenic mushrooms into coffee. The combination of functional mushrooms like Lions Mane and coffee reduces the heavier side effects of coffee on its own, as well as boosts your immune system and mental clarity. Plus, it might even help you sleep better, so you’re well rested and ready for the next day.

Beekeper’s Naturals Propolis Throat Spray

Honey and propolis have a ton of different health benefits, and it’s only right that we make full use of them. Propolis in particular is a powerful antiviral and antibacterial substance that’s been used as a natural remedy and defense against illness for centuries. It’s also got hundreds of beneficial compounds that aid with germ-killing and reduce oxidative stress in the body.

The Beekeper’s Naturals Propolis Throat Spray is 95% pure propolis mixed with vegetable glycerin and purified water. That means no preservatives or fillers, so you get your propolis at full power. A few sprays of this on a regular basis is a quick, painless, yet extremely effective defense against sickness. Definitely a must-buy.

Kishu Charcoal Water Filter

If there’s one thing you’ll want to invest in, it’s your drinking water.

Humans need water to live more than we need food, but it can sometimes come as an afterthought to everything else.

A good water filter will not only keep your water tasting good, but also filter out harmful chemicals and particles.

The Kishu Charcoal Water Filter is able to do all of that while reducing plastic waste. Activated charcoal can attract other chemicals at a molecular level, and these filters can be used up to four months.

You don’t even have to throw them away once you’re done with them once they’ve been used as a filter, you can then repurpose them as odor eaters and eventually compost them. The end result is a healthier household and a healthier world.
