It’s still summer today, why am I cold?

September 21, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I never understand why I get so cold when the weather goes from 75 to 69 degrees. I feel colder when the temperature drops just a little than in the middle of the winter.

So tonight I’m pulling out the best weapon against a cold night – Bath and Body Work’s Sweetest, Softest Sleep Socks on Earth. While I have not actually tried every sleep sock on earth, I’ll go out on a limb here and say that these are indeed the softest sleep socks on earth. What is so great about them is that they are more climate control for your feet than anything else – you don’t feel the cold, but you don’t get too warm either. And unlike standard socks, they are soooo soft – you forget you have them on. You know that feeling right before you fall asleep like your feet are kind of floating in a pool? It feels like that as soon as you put these on.

These socks and my massive sweater collection are two of the bigger things I’m looking forward to this Fall. And these always go over big when I give them as a gift.

Find them at Bath and Body Works for $7.50 for one pair and 2 pairs for $12.

Liptini Match for Shoe Saturday’s Prada Ruffle Sandal

September 21, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Obviously your outfit will dictate the color of your lipstick than the shoe in the case of the Prada Ruffle Sandals, but no matter what base color you use, add Liptini Topper Gloss in Blue Flame as a finishing touch. It’s subtle opal-blue warmth instantly transforms you into the 1940’s movie heroine who would have a closet full of those heels.

Are these Prada Ruffle Sandalsicon over the top?

Nah. In fact I can think of four outfits off the top of my head that would justify me snatching them up. 🙂

Find them at Saks.com.

I don’t know why it works, but it does – how to minimize skin imperfections with a light layer of powder

September 19, 2008 · Leave a Comment

From the files of “try it before you dismiss the idea”: Before you put on your base, add a super light layer of face powder, and you skin will appear flawless and glowing. I was skeptical when I first heard this tip a couple of weeks ago, but it works great. The trick is putting on the lightest coat possible – it’s not a matter of the more the better in this case.

I got really good results using this trick with La Mer Powder (I use Translucent) and T. LeClerc Translucide Pressed Powder – both of which have light-diffusing properties to start with, which adds and extra dose of skin-perfecting power.

Who knew, huh? 🙂
