Product Review: Liz Earle Naturally Active Haircare Botanical Shine Shampoo and Botanical Shine Conditioner for Dry or Damaged Hair

December 18, 2010 · Leave a Comment

I had the chance to try out Liz Earle’s new line of haircare products when it was sent to me – their Botanical Shine Shampoo and Botanical Shine Conditioner for Dry or Damaged Hair. When the weather gets bitter cold like it has been the last week or so (yes, I know this is warm and balmy compared to how it will be in a month or so), my hair dries out in record time. When I started using a once a week deep-moisture hair mask every day to keep up with the weather, I decided it was time to try out Liz Earle’s latest offerings.

We’ve reviewed other Liz Earle product before, but just as a quick rundown of the line  Liz Earle Naturally Active products no artificial preservatives, only natural ingredients that have been specially picked from around the globe. This stuff is good for you!

So one day I tried out the Shine Shampoo and the Shine Conditioner for Dry or Damaged Hair. A lot of all-natural shampoos leave my hair kinda dull and flat, but not this one. The consistency of both shampoo and conditioner is smooth and light. It feels good in your hand, and you don’t need a lot of shampoo to get a nice lather (that’s another thing that puts this line ahead of the pack of natural shampoos I always have a hard time getting a decent lather with others not this one). The scent is fresh and very pleasant, but not overpowering. That’s a real plus for me. It’s actually calming, and makes for a nice spa-like shower. And once you wash it out, the scent is gone  your hair just smells really clean and nice“ not perfumey. While it contains 8 essential oils, it is really quite gentle of a scent“ and I’m pretty sensitive to scents. It washed out smooth without having to scrub, and leaves hair fresh” even on the second day it smelled and felt just as fresh as when I got out of the shower.

The conditioner is fantastic. I expected a light conditioning given the smoothly flowing consistency. However, it provided truly deep hydration and washed out clean as well. I loved how both products felt on if you want to add a little spa experience to your everyday shower, then you definitely will love this line.

I dried my hair without styling product, and I got smooth, bouncy waves with good volume at the crown. My hair moved easily and freely, and I looooved running my finger through my hair after. The shine was incredible“ that is probably what I find the most impressive. You’ll have light but powerful oils to thank for that“ orange and apple oils, which combine for that great scent.

Since it doesn’t have harsh chemicals, I recommended it to Style Chick Lyn, who had just got an elusively perfect hair color about a week before. She was worried about the color washing out, as it quickly tends to do on her freshly colored hair. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking to extend their color” and since the fresh feeling lasts longer than other shampoos and conditioners, you don’t have to wash as often, which will prolong your color.
