As it directs, I sprayed Seynani’s Sugar Blocker in my mouth and then tried a few sugary items that are my go-to sugar cravings: Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Oreos, ice cream, glazed pastry, and cookies, and for good measure, a very sugary soda, and a diet soda with artificial sweeteners.

The results of this experiment were interesting: I was surprised how lackluster and even bad many sugary snacks taste in the absence of being able to taste the sweetness of the sugar. The soda tasted downright awful when I couldn’t taste the whopping 6 teaspoons of sugar per serving it takes to make cola taste good. Seynani’s Sugar Blocker also blocks the artificial sweetener taste in diet soda, which quelled my mid-afternoon slump soda craving. ANTI-AGING: Subtle signs of aging are excess darkness on some areas of the face, a light application of Touche Eclat counteracts this:
- Applying a light upside-down “U” shape in the indentation of the chin
- Applying it under the nostrils where many of us get broken red capillaries, to lift the nose, which tends to droop with age
- Apply it to the sides of the mouth where they turn down to lift drooping lips
- At the arch of the eyebrow, blend a dot of Eclat into that highpoint.
- CONCEAL LAUGH LINES: Smile and draw over the lines with the Eclat. Blend to hide the lines.
SMOKEY EYE CLEANUP: If your smokey eye has become too dark, clean it up a bit with some eclat on the highlight section. This cleans up and lightens your look without disturbing that otherwise hard-earned blended smokey look on the rest of the eye.
FOR THE UNDEREYE: If you have little in the way of dark circles, Touche Eclat is enough to brighten under the eye, but if you have something to cover, you will need more than Eclat for actual coverage. I like to use my standard foundation or concealer, and then dab a TINY bit of Eclat on top of that for some brightening. If you brighten the entire circle, there is no natural contour to your undereye, which looks old and weird. But less is more when it comes to undereye Eclat use.

THE STYLECHICKS MOSCOW MULE RECIPE

The traditional Moscow Mule is simple: squeeze lime juice into the mug, add ice, pour in the vodka then the Ginger Beer, garnish with lime. Done.

But since the Kamojo Mugs are hammered and pure copper and therefore enhance certain flavors so well, we gave them a proper test run and added some extra flavors to our recipe.

We found the combination of Blackberries, ginger, lime and mint to be great go-togethers with the flavor enhancing properties of our Komojo Moscow Mules. If berries aren’t in season yet, a simple syrup can add some sweetness. If you prefer tart to sweet, some fresh ginger slices also work.

Depending on your preferred flavor, muddle some extra fresh ginger (tarter) or berries (sweeter) in the bottom of the KaMojo mug.

STYLECHICKS SUMMER MOSCOW MULE

INGREDIENTS:

Vodka, 1.5 to 2 oz
Chilled Ginger Beer, 4-6 oz.
Limes (for sliced garnish and 1/2 oz lime juice)
Ice: cubes or soft slushie style, plenty
Handful of blackberries or 5 slices of fresh ginger
Fresh mint

Optional Inclusions:

candied ginger slices
simple syrup

INSTRUCTIONS:

Chill the Kamojo copper shot glass for a few minutes. Then pour the vodka into the Kamojo copper shot glass and set it aside during ingredient prep. This starts the “when copper meets vodka” oxidation enhancing process.
Add mint leaves and a thin lime wedge directly to the mug.
Add a few blackberries or 2 thin slices of fresh ginger and muddle this trio (lightly press and twist) to release the juicy flavor and lime oil.
Squeeze 1/2 ounce of lime juice.
Pour the lime juice over the muddled mix.
Add fresh squeezed lime juice over muddled berries and mint
Fill the mug about 50% full of ice.
Add mint and the rest of the ginger slices or berries
Fill mug about 75% with loosely packed ice cubes.
Add the copper shot glass of vodka.

Fill with Ginger Beer to the top, about 4-6 ounces.
Ginger Beer should be fizzy, tart and flavorful. We like Reeds Ginger Beer
Stir lightly, add more ice if needed.
Add garnishes to taste: lime slice, mint, candied ginger. We used a skewer of lime, mint, fresh ginger, candied ginger and berries to serve as a stirrer.

Garnish with lime, candied ginger, fresh ginger, mint or fruit and enjoy!

THE VERDICT:
