What is Ginseng?

There are several types of ginseng. Red ginseng has pharmacological benefits. It is legendary in oriental medicine. Research associates the most health benefits with Red Ginseng, also known as Panax ginseng or Korean red ginseng.

Korean Red Ginseng root and plant. The root provides health benefits

The dried unprocessed root is called white ginseng. The root that has been steamed and dried is called red ginseng. Red Ginseng is ginseng roots harvested after 6 or more years. It is more expensive to grow.

While ginseng is sourced from other regions, red ginseng from Korea is the type with the most benefits.

GINSENG BENEFITS

BTGIN Gin Hongsam Saponin Capsule Plus contains maximum ginsenosides

Gingseng can enhance:

  • energy
  • stamina
  • memory
  • circulation.
  • It supports the immune system
  • offers skin benefits

But not all ginseng supplements contain the most beneficial ginseng.

Ginseng contains two important compounds: ginsenosides and gintonin. These compounds complement one another to provide health benefits. The major active pharmacological component is Ginsenosides.

Ginsenosides, a form of Saponin, are rare. The antioxidant potency and most health benefits of ginseng are from the ginsenosides. [1]

But Ginsenoside availability and absorption is low in most supplements, so choose a supplement carefully.

Best Extraction Methods

Research indicates ginseng extraction methods are crucial to the quality of the Ginsenosides.[2]

SUPERIOR GINSENG Roots

BTGIN uses only 6-year-old ginsengs grown in the Geumsan region of Korea. This allows them to harvest the fine roots that contain the best and highest ginsenoside concentrations. [3]

Some supplements use all of the plant, but the benefit is in the root. BTGIN only uses the root.

Extracting from the fine roots yields the best Ginseng benefits

What are Red Ginseng Benefits?

In East Asian countries, Red ginseng has been widely used to treat various diseases. Research supports Red Ginseng, so only buy RED, such as is used in this formulation.  Here are some of the documented benefits of Ginseng:

Invigorating, Metabolism Boosting

In a study comparing Korean ginseng with American ginseng, Korean (Red) ginseng was found to be invigorating and to boost the metabolism. [4]

Anti-fatigue

Korean red ginseng has long been linked to increased alertness, and now there is research to back it. A study of 21 men and 69 women with idiopathic chronic fatigue (ICF) showed ginseng reduced clinic signs of fatigue evidenced in blood serum and oxygen levels. [5]

Reduces Stress

Studies indicate that the ginseng components GTS, ginsenosides Rg3, and Rb1 may be neuroprotective to a stressed brain. This reduces the impact of stress on the brain and body. [6]

Soothes Eczema Inflammation

A study found that Red ginseng reduced inflammation and improved the antioxidant activity in skin cells impacted by eczema.[7]

Reduce inflammation from exercise

A study of young males taking daily ginseng, post-exercise inflammation and muscle damage was reduced for up to 72 hours after exercise (running uphill on a treadmill).[8]

oxidative stress reduction

A study of postmenopausal women found red ginseng may reduce insulin resistance and oxidative stress by increasing antioxidant enzyme activity. Over 80 postmenopausal women who took 3 grams of red ginseng or a placebo daily for 12 weeks. Antioxidant activity and oxidative stress markers were then measured.[9]

Chronic Liver Disease

Several studies [10] show Korean Red Ginseng has positive effects on liver disease and liver function.

Promising Research to Inhibit Tumor Growth

20(S)-protopanaxadiol (PPD) comes from ginseng saponin. In lab studies, PPD was shown to inhibit growth and induce cell cycle arrest in HCT116 cells. It showed anticancer activity on colon cancer cells.[11,12]
