I prefer this device with it’s big head to some of the spot treatment smaller devices I have seen, especially in a modality that is intended to eliminate bacteria from the entire face to not just kill existing acne in small spot treatments, but to pre-empt future acne before it can start.

RESULTS

My skin performed on cue and a whitehead turned into a full-fledged pimple the day after the reVive device arrived. Â It became our test case.

It quickly reduced the redness and inflammation in existing acne breakouts, which made them immediately easier to cover with concealer. Normally, my acne stays red and inflamed for the duration of the blemishes’ miserable life, but the reVive removed the red after two sessions. I am very pleased with this since I have a tough time concealing acne very well. It also shrunk down in size after one session and did not turn into the full-blown pimple disaster my lower cheek pimples typically tend to be.

MY EXPERIENCE USING SHEARGURU SCISSORS
Both pairs of scissors are constructed well and are easy to handle and use; the loops are easy to grip, and the blades move smoothly. A feature I particularly like is the tension adjustment screw; it makes the motion of the blades when opening and closing a very smooth one. I like how easily they glided in movement during rapid trimming and did not get stuck or click during use.

I was able to use the straight-edge scissors for very fine, precision trims of my hair and split-end removal, cutting just the tiniest lengths of hair exactly as I wanted. It is precise enough to focus just on cutting a single hair with a split or damaged end, and strong enough to blunt-cut thick sections of hair in a single stroke. It seems counterintuitive to growth, but removing such small amounts off the drier ends of hair is barely noticeable lengthwise and makes a huge difference in how the hair appears.

HOW TO PERFORM A DUSTING
1. Only dust-trim dry hair.
2. Clip hair into four sections, and take one-inch sub-sections, and with the ShearGuru straight-edge scissors, trim less than 1/4 of an inch.
3. Once the one-inch hair sub-section is done, clip it away from the rest and take another section, and repeat until all your hair is trimmed.
4. Assess overall length of hair for evenness.

HOW OFTEN TO DUST: Thicker, colored, or heavily processed hair should get a dusting about every four weeks, healthier, thinner or unprocessed hair can be about every six. As a rule, I dust my hair each time I touch up my hair color, about once a month.

TRIMMING SPLIT ENDS
In a 2013 Glamour Magazine interview, Blake Lively said she trims her split ends by putting her hair into two braids and trimming off any split ends that stick out of the braids. This method does not replace full trims and regular dustings. It is, however, a useful idea for those with very long, layered hair. I found the SheerGuru Scissors easy to use for Blake’s method, the blades move fluidly and cut crisply and precisely. I also like to twist a section of hair and clip the little split-ends that stick out all along the sides of the twist.

ABOUT THE BRUSHHEADS:
The brush set comes with three interchangeable heads, for use depending on your current skin care need. The bristles of the three brush heads are made of a bacteria resistant, soft material. These bristles are thinner in diameter than a human hair. None of the brush head bristles feel scratchy on the skin, but the white head (with the black ring) is the softest of the three. I also use my brush on my throat, collarbone, decolletage and at times my shoulders. When used on the hands before a manicure, it quickly cleans up dry and flaking cuticles. The deep cleansing brush is particularly useful on the back of upper arms for tackling keratosis pilaris, those little white bumps that look similar to acne but do not respond to acne treatments. This brush provides bacteria-free exfoliation that it very useful just before the application of AHA and Salicylic Acid products to reduce or eliminate the bumps.

EASY USE:
There are two-speed settings and one on/off switch. Once charged, the brush is cordless and portable. The buttons are big and easy to operate even with wet soapy hands.

T-ZONE MODE:
There is a built-in one-minute pulsing T-Zone timer for rapid, deep cleansing the forehead, chin, and nose. I like this feature so that I can both deep clean this oily area up to six times cleaner while still gently cleansing more delicate skin with the same brush head. This is superior to other facial brush cleansers that would require a changeout of the brush head to accomplish both a deep cleansing of the T-zone and cleansing normal skin areas.

EASY BRUSHHEAD REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT
To remove a brush head, place the plastic cap over the bristles and grasp the top and bottom of the brush in your index finger and thumb respectively. Press and twist the head counter-clockwise until the brush releases, like a medicine bottle cap. To apply a brush head, press it onto the base positioning it over the threads, turning clockwise and gently pop it into place until you hear a snap.

HOW TO USE THE BRUSH:
1. Select the brush head of your choice and put it on the brush device
2. Use the headband if desired
3. Dab a facial cleanser onto your damp skin
4. Wet the brush
5. Turn on the brush to the low or high setting (up or down). There is a built-in one-minute pulsing T-Zone timer for deeper cleansing the oiliest parts of your face.
6. GLIDE the brush head over your skin, keeping the head moving in slow, sweeping circular motions outwards. There is no need to press it into the skin firmly or to scrub your skin with the brush as if using a washcloth. Use light pressure only.
7. Do the forehead for 20 seconds, then ten seconds for each cheek, the nose, and the chin. You will feel a single pulsing surge when it is time to move to the next area.
8. Turn off the device
9. Rinse and dry
10. After each use, remove the brush head, wash the brush head with water and place in a well-ventilated area until dry.

TIP: The brush is safe for once a day use with the white, blue and green heads and the Luxe Cashmere heads can a particularly excellent value twice a day.

RESULTS
