Grow Longer, Thicker Hair with Verified Research Hair Growth Supplements

November 3, 2018 · 6 Comments

Want to grow longer, fuller hair, but basic Biotin supplements aren’t doing enough? Biotin alone can’t address all hair growth factors. Try a hair growth supplement with natural ingredients clinically proven to address the many reasons hair won’t grow.

Verified Research Hair Growth contains 21 vitamins and minerals proven to grow hair

Verified Research Hair Growth contains 21 vitamins and minerals proven to grow hair

HAVE HAIR GROWTH SUPPLEMENTS FAILED YOU BEFORE?

Taking prenatal vitamins have been a model’s secret for growing hair for years. Some people have marvelous hair growth results just with a basic B Vitamin supplement that includes B7, better known as Biotin. Biotin is great for hair growth, as it builds the necessary keratin protein that makes up hair. It also accelerates the hair production process, making it work overtime. If your follicles have the ingredients to make hair, they likely grow hair faster and stronger.
But for some people, Keratin is not the only thing preventing their hair growth goals, as many issues can impact hair growth, hair shedding, and hair breakage. Some issues include the health of the scalp, nutritional deficiencies, hormonal changes, age, medications, and general health factors. A combination of these factors is also likely for many of us. In these cases, Biotin alone won’t overcome these hair growth barriers.

If you have tried hair vitamins in the past without meaningful success, consider a formulation that addresses the many possible barriers to improved hair growth. This is where Verified Research Hair Growth comes in.

PROBLEMS IMPACTING HAIR GROWTH

Growing new hair is only half the battle. Many problems result in hair breakage and even hair loss. Addressing these include improving scalp circulation to stimulate new hair growth, strengthening dormant hair follicles and reducing follicle blocking hormones that can decrease hair loss, as well as addressing vitamin deficiencies impacting hair.

Iron and zinc deficiencies, for example, are very common, especially if one doesn’t eat much red meat. They can lead to hair loss, dullness and even breakage. But some other deficiencies are common but not addressed by a simple multi-vitamin or most hair supplements.

Veggie capsule and a Vegan-friendly formulation helps supply many of the vitamins and minerals that are difficult to get from vegan and vegetarian based diets alone

INGREDIENTS: WHAT VITAMINS & MINERALS ARE NEEDED FOR GUARANTEED HAIR GROWTH?

Research Verified Hair Growth supplements provide a dual-action response by both stopping hair loss and stimulating new hair growth. It contains 21 clinically proven, 100% natural ingredients including biotin, folic acid, saw palmetto, ginkgo biloba, and tocopheryl acetate, a potent form of Vitamin E. Here is each major ingredient and what it is proven to do for hair growth.

  • Saw Palmetto is a very important ingredient that is missing from many hair growth supplements. It stops hair loss caused by DHT, a hormone that causes hair follicles to shrink, eventually choking out new hair growth until the follicle doesn’t grow hair at all.
  • Ginkgo Biloba increases blood flow to the scalp and can accelerate hair growth rates. Better blood flow means more nutrients get to the hair production process.
  • Fo Ti is a Chinese herb known as an anti-oxidant that stops hair loss.
  • Tocopheryl Acetate is the most potent form of Vitamin E.
  • Borage Oil is for scalp health, it reduces inflammation. It is a “good” fat that contributes towards lush hair.
  • Silica builds connective tissue and collagen that helps makes hair. We typically don’t get enough Silica in our diet to contribute to hair growth.
  • MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) is a sulfur compound trace and trace mineral found naturally in the body. It’s vital to make and bind both keratin and collagen and keeps hair from becoming brittle and thin. An MSM deficiency shortens the hair growth phase. MSM is commonly used for alopecia.
  • L-Cysteine is necessary to build Keratin, and hair is 14% cysteine.
  • L-Methionine is for hair structure and strength. Strong hair prevents breakage and thinning mid-length.
  • Biotin is found in many hair growth supplements because it builds keratin, the foundation of hair growth.
  • Zinc deficiencies are common and can lead to hair loss
  • Selenium helps support hair related issues including thyroid and blood flow
  • The B Vitamins work in together to support B processes that impact hair growth including signaling the body to grow hair and Keratin production. They help the body process iron which is vital for hair health.
  • Vitamin A keeps the scalp moist by producing healthy sebum, which keeps hair from drying out and breaking off. It also facilitates the hair growth phase. Too little or too much vitamin A can cause hair loss. Proper dosage is necessary.
  • Iron is necessary for the growth and repair of cells that stimulate hair growth. A lack of iron can lead to hair loss, dullness and breakage. Many women are iron deficient.
  • Iodine deficiency prevents hair follicles from regenerating. Iodine also fights infections that can occur around hair follicles, damaging hair growth. Finally, Iodine helps regulate the thyroid. When the thyroid lacks iodine, hair becomes dry and rough, prematurely gray, losses volume and can even fall out, leading to bald spots.
  • Copper increases the size of shrunken hair follicles, stops thinning and premature graying.

That list certainly hits the bases, doesn’t it? Each vitamin and mineral cited has been verified in numerous independent clinical studies documenting results in increased hair growth, improved scalp health, improvements in hair density, decreased dryness, brittleness, and breakage, or preventing hair shedding.

Something else I like about Verified Research Hair Growth is it doesn’t overdo the dosage on minerals that having TOO much can harm you, or that taking too much is not harmful but just pointlessly excessive. The amounts included are what is safe and necessary for maximum benefit.

EXPERIENCE

Take two veggie capsule supplements daily. Each bottle contains enough or 30 days. The soft capsules are easy to swallow. There is no bitter aftertaste.

Easy to swallow veggie capsules

Easy to swallow veggie capsules

How long it takes to see results depends on the problem one needs to address. If follicles have gone dormant they can be revived, but that takes longer to accomplish than just a basic deficiency being addressed.

I noticed improved nail growth and strength quickly. The quality Vitamin E not only has resulted in a healthier scalp but overall improved skin. The Vitamin E/Biotin combo is important in hair growth, so the quality of the ingredients in this supplement is important to me.

Balanced Indulgence with Good Idea The Swedish Sugar Buster

December 12, 2017 · 2 Comments

Low sugar, low carb diets aren’t easy, but people report feeling better with more energy. Why is this? Our body converts carbs to sugars, and we knowingly or unknowingly consume copious amounts of daily sugar, even if we don’t feel like we’re over-indulging on sweets. Sugar can make us feel sluggish, plus lead to a host of serious health problems, weight gain, and dangerous low-grade body and skin inflammation. But the sugar habit, whether in the form of coffeehouse beverages, dessert, french fries or white bread, is difficult to break, especially over a rushed lunch break. At times, carb-laden meals are unavoidable. How can one avoid going into sugar overdrive?

Good Idea is a Swedish Sugar Buster. It’s a scientifically proven dietary supplement designed to be consumed with any meal to help a healthy person regulate the blood sugar rise and eventual energy slump from a fast carb, sugary meal.

Good Idea The Swedish Sugar Buster is a sparkling water that reduces the impact of a high sugar or fast carb meal

Good Idea The Swedish Sugar Buster is a sparkling water that reduces the impact of a high sugar or fast carb meal

WHAT IS GOOD IDEA?

Good Idea is a flavored sparkling water that contains a small amount of five amino acids and a mineral that helps the body’s blood sugar level regulate the impact of the sugar spike following a meal. It works with any meal containing fast carbs (fries, loaded potatoes, white bread, pizza, pasta) or sugar (sugary breakfast cereal, muffins, desserts, snacks, etc). It can also be consumed directly after a meal and still be effective.

HOW GOOD IDEA WORKS

Clinical studies done on healthy people with normal blood sugar levels show the combination of amino acids and the mineral chromium contained in Good Idea reduce post-meal blood sugar levels by 20-30%. This greatly reduces the load on the body to process these sugar and carbs and helps eliminate the inevitable post-meal sugar crash or energy slump.

WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS IN GOOD IDEA?

This sounds like a great idea, but what exactly are we drinking?

A serving (12 fl oz) of Good Idea contains 2.6 g of five amino acids: isoleucine, leucine, valine, threonine, and lysine, plus 250mg of Chromium Picolinate. Many of these are found in common foods you likely eat regularly, but the timing of when they are ingested is important. You may have seen some of these sold as vitamins or minerals. Here are the specifics:

  • Isoleucine appears to promote glucose consumption and uptake, especially during exercise.
  • Leucine beneficially influences the muscles and is beneficial when taken at specific times as related to a meal. Typically contained in any food containing protein, and more powerful than Isoleucine.
  • Valine is one of the three branched chain amino acids that work in tandem with the other acids
  • Threonine is necessary for protein synthesis.
  • Lysine is found in many foods (fish, chicken, soybean, garbanzo beans, milk, eggs) and is used in the biosynthesis of proteins and repair of muscles.
  • Chromium Picolinate is well known for maintaining normal blood glucose levels in both healthy and diabetic persons. Combined with the five amino acids above, results in less insulin needing to be released into the body to manage a high carb or high sugar meal.
Good Idea has natural amino acids found in many foods, a mineral known to evenly control blood sugar levels, natural flavoring and no sugar

HOW ARE THESE AMINO ACIDS SOURCED?

The amino acids are produced by controlled fermentation of non-GMO vegetable sources only (sunflower seeds, corn or pure glucose).

Good Idea contains only Non-GMO sourced amino acids, such as from this organic corn

HOW DOES IT TASTE?

It is a sparkling water that comes in two flavors: Sparkling Orange Mango and Sparkling Lemon Lime.

Both have no sugar or artificial sweeteners and contain ten calories a serving.

Refreshing citrus tastes like Lemon, lime, and Orange make Good Idea an enjoyable, sugar-free beverage

MY EXPERIENCE: PUTTING GOOD IDEA TO THE TEST

I typically require plenty of caffeine during the day and often drink an ice-cold Diet Soda at lunch. The problem with this is I have read some studies that indicate you may be saving calories with some Diet Sodas, but your body still thinks it is processing sugar. If you drink a diet drink at mealtime to save calories, then at ten calories, Good Idea is a tasty alternative.

Good Idea comes in single-serve cans so it can be chilled just like a can of soda, so I don’t miss the cold fizzy taste of a carbonated drink.

I like the Mango Orange which is lightly sweet with a smoother mango taste, but really like the Lemon-lime, which is tart, lightly tangy and less sweet. There is no artificial, acidic or chemical taste or weird aftertaste. It is refreshingly flavorful for a sparkling water, especially when chilled, so I don’t miss having a soda when I drink a Good Idea.

THE PIZZA TEST

With a pizza or with a burger and fries, I almost always make it worse and have a soda. I know it’s bad for me.

As these are both high carb meals, they tend to lead to an afternoon energy crash that often makes me need another soda or coffeehouse coffee and snack to stay energized, and these often contain even more carbs and sugar. So for my weekly pizza lunch treat, I tried a well-chilled Good Idea Sparkling Lemon Lime instead of a diet soda. I didn’t miss the soda and did notice that with the Good Idea I didn’t feel as tired after I ate and didn’t feel an afternoon energy slump that required repeated carb loading to get through the day. My energy felt more even and constant without the need to re-binge on carbs.

The high carb nature of lunch of pizza can leave one sluggish during the workday

UNEXPECTED SUGAR & CARB FILLED EVENTS

Going to a party with too many tempting treats? Don’t miss out on all the fun when you can just drink Good Idea. The can itself is thin, so it can fit into your bag and as it just looks like regular sparkling water, you can enjoy yourself without the guilt. Good Idea also works when consumed after a meal, and it can be consumed alone just as a refreshing beverage.

Sugary, carb-laden snacks are everywhere, especially this time of year

I sometimes go to the vending machine, coffeehouse, cafeteria, restaurant or food court with the full intent of making healthy choices, and somehow things derail. Or maybe there is an unexpected celebration with cake that you feel compelled to eat not to hurt someone’s feelings. Keeping a spare Good Idea on hand at work helps me keep my carb and sugar load in check even when I have an unexpected high-carb day.

Do impulse cute confections such as these little bear cake pops unexpectedly break your diet or exceed your daily carb limit?  Drinking a Good Idea with your meals that day can help decrease the excess carb and sugar load your body experiences when you indulge.

This is not to say that Good Idea is a free pass to eat whatever you want with no consequences. But realistically, the best of us flub up sometimes when it comes to healthy eating. Often we don’t always have the time or energy to make the healthiest meal choice. You may often opt for low carb zoodles over high-carb pasta, but it requires planning to shop and prep to make zoodles verses the fast and easy pasta night. It happens sometimes, and Good Idea can help reduce the impact of less-than-ideal menu choices or fast and easy food. If a high carb meal like pasta or pizza or fries is your favorite, it’s tough to stick to a healthier way of eating when you feel you must give your favorite food up forever. Good Idea allows for a planned or unexpected indulgence, which makes a diet or healthy lifestyle change more workable.

No time to make low-carb pasta alternatives like Zoodles? Good Idea can help

ABOUT THE RESEARCH BEHIND GOOD IDEA

Good Idea is based on years of research at Lund University, a leading Nordic university and a center for healthy food inventions. They initially discovered that a certain combination of amino acids beneficially influenced the blood sugar rise following a meal. Backed by repeated clinical studies, Good Idea“ the Swedish Sugar Buster was created.

Good Idea is backed by research at the Antidiabetic Food Centre at the renowned Lund University

CONCLUSION

Many of us enjoy a flavored Sparkling Water with a meal, Good Idea saves a carb-laden meal or sugary snack from being a dietary disaster. Drink one with a meal, or if you go to a restaurant or a friends house for dinner, you can drink it afterward and still get the blood sugar regulating effects. Both flavors provide safe and tasty health benefits to save the body from undue stress due to high sugar or fast carbs, including weight gain and inflammation. It also keeps a sugar rush or carb energy boost from causing a energy crash, which is ideal for regulating energy during a work day when one is often forced into a fast food meal or a sandwich lunch. Tasty and flavorful, with only ten calories per serving, you won’t miss soda or sugary sparkling waters while helping your body naturally support healthy blood sugar levels.

Sweetflexx: Resistance Band Leggings for on the Go Fitness

November 21, 2017 · 6 Comments

I was headed to the gym last week, but it was such a gorgeous day down here at Yale that I just wanted to take a walk. Thanks to Sweetflexx Leggings, I didn’t have to choose!

Sweetflexx Leggings look like regular leggings, but they have a secret: resistance bands built into the legs to provide resistance with every step. You don’t feel it, but it adds up: The John B Pierce Sports Lab at Yale University found that by wearing Sweetflexx, you burn more calories and improve body composition. It’s like using resistance bands at the gym all day!

Sweetflexx leggings are attractive and comfortable when standing, walking and sitting while they provide a resistance workout

Sweetflexx looks and feel like regular leggings but holds a secret…they have hidden resistance bands for gentle resistance training on your legs as you move in them during the day.

Anywhere you might wear leggings is fine for Sweetflexx, and it turns a regular day into a workout day

SWEETFLEXX DESIGN AESTHETIC

Once you have them on, they look like regular leggings with a bit of a ruched design element. I like how they go with my casual clothes for museums, library days, shopping, sightseeing and attending classes.

The ruched look of these leggings appears like a design element but it is actually a high-resistance band that creates an exercise routine out of everyday activities like running errands, sightseeing, shopping, or walking around campus

I like how they look with my casual clothes and they are comfortable

Wear them anywhere you would wear regular leggings, but Sweetflexx offers a workout while you sit, walk, stand, bend and go about your regular activities.

THE SCIENCE BEHIND SWEETFLEXX LEGGINGS

Yale University’s renowned The John B Pierce Sports Lab of Physiology and Health studied how the integrated resistance band technology in Sweetflexx leggings impacted the calories burned and muscle training that occurs when wearing the leggings both in regular activities (such as walking, sitting, doing chores, grocery shopping, caring for small children) and during periods of gym exercise. For both intended and incidental exercise of muscles, the Sweetflexx technology enabled muscles to work more effectively, leading to better body composition, meaning more muscle to best optimize performance and health. It also resulted in burning more calories and improving tone. Calorie loss for a 121-pound woman was documented at an extra 255 calories a day just by wearing the leggings.

A portion of the study stated “If an individual wears these leggings over a period of several days, and does not change exercise or diet habits, he or she will be in negative energy balance, and is likely to lose weight.”

The seamlessly integrated resistance bands provide a small force for each step or movement. The resistance level is small, but over the course of the day, it adds up.

SWEETFLEXX: Resistance leggings backed by Yale University caliber research

PUTTING SWEETFLEXX TO THE TEST: MY OWN EXPERIENCE

You are probably wondering, can leggings really create a workout out of regular, everyday activities? And if they do offer resistance, will they be too difficult to walk in? While I have used resistance bands, I just couldn’t envision how Sweetflexx could work and still be comfortable until I tried it. I was surprised to see how much of a difference it made.

Sweetflexx leggings come wrapped in a bow!

They were not uncomfortable to wear, I could stand, sit, bend, and do regular activities wearing them without any difficulty. They truly feel like regular, comfortable leggings! Unlike some leggings, they are not too sheer, even when worn outside or in bright light.

The Ruched pattern on the Sweetflexx leggings holds built-in resistance bands

Closeup of the leggings: ruched design outside resistance bands inside

The next day, I was sore like after leg day at the gym. Have you ever heard how rollerblading engages muscles you don’t use in any other sport or activity? It was the same with Sweetflexx, lots of small muscle groups I must miss at the gym between cardio and weights, but I could feel them after wearing Sweetflexx, as if I exercised just by casually walking around at a leisurely pace.

It was not cumbersome to walk or sit or move around in the Sweetflexx leggings, my range of motion was not at all impaired by them.

I was surprised how the Sweetflexx leggings turn everyday activities like walking up a small staircase into a leg toning workout!

SWEETFLEXX FIT

Sweetflexx appears small coming out the package, putting them on is a bit more effort than slipping on standard leggings, more like getting into a Spanx on steroids type of support garments than effortless sweats. But the first time, it took a minute to figure out how to put them on, more like how one properly gathers the leg when putting on a pair of Wolford hose rather than how one might haphazardly throw on a pair of sweats. After the first time, they seemed to conform to me a bit and it wasn’t a struggle to put them on after that.

If you are between sizes, I recommend ordering one size up. Once they were on, they felt really comfortable.

WEARING SWEETFLEXX WALKING AROUND THE CITY AND YALE CAMPUS

Yale University is a campus within a city, which means lots and lots of walking. So I wore the Sweetflexx leggings around campus to test them out for myself. The resistance is not so strong so as to cause difficulty walking or impair range of motion. I could take my normal strides while walking with ease, and walking at a fast clip, carrying a heavy bag, lifting, or climbing stairs all felt normal while I did them.

Wearing Sweetflexx leggings today while taking a popular Yale student shortcut between the buildings behind Woolsey Hall

By wearing Sweetflexx, I improve tone and burn calories even during otherwise low-impact activities

Walking around Yale’s expansive campus

Wear them while sightseeing or at a museum, walking to work, to the library or class or anywhere else that you might normally wear leggings

Wear Sweetflexx for a daily walk or running errands. Even gentle, leisurely walking such as an outside stroll or browsing boutiques or museums burns calories and improves muscle tone

Wear them while traveling, commuting or while going to classes

Watching the sunset in the city after a day of walking in Sweetflexx leggings.

A day walking in the Sweetflexx and I still feel good!

CONCLUSION

Sweetflexx Leggings address a common problem many busy women have: we can’t always get to the gym as often as we may like. And when we do get to exercise, we may not know how to optimize our program. While we don’t recommend NOT exercising, there are times that you just can’t fit regular exercise into your daily routine: you are busy with caring for a young family, you sustained a sports injury or you’re sick, you’re busy with work or final exams, on vacation, snowed in or whatever other reasons, sometimes getting to the gym regularly is just impossible. But most of us spend time on our feet each day during our regular activities, so why not turn those days into a resistance workout?

Clinically proven to burn calories and improve muscle tone, Sweetflexx leggings are comfortable, look and feel like regular leggings, and turn a regular day of activity into a leg workout day!

EASING POST-WORKOUT SORENESS: Savoon Fitness tru-Copper Compression Socks

September 21, 2017 · Leave a Comment

Are your legs aching from being on your feet or exercise? Anti-Fatigue Graduated Compression Socks improve blood flow and lessen the burden on your tired legs, regardless of the source of strain. Before you think compression socks mean trading out stylish legwear for looking like you got grandma legs, Savoon Fitness tru-Copper Compression socks look like regular black knee socks, but they are thicker than a tight or dress sock but not as thick as sports sock. The secret is they have invigorating anti-fatigue properties that enhance blood circulation and oxygen production, which support active muscles to reduce soreness and swelling. This makes Savoon Fitness tru-Copper Compression socks suitable for wearing for exercising, running, sports, outdoor activities, or wearing them to work under pants or under knee-high boots with a skirt.

Comfortable, breathable socks fit under yoga pants, pantsuits, and under boots to energize and invigorate your legs all day

WHO NEEDS COMPRESSION SOCKS

There are lots of reasons for your legs to be under enough stress to benefit from compression socks including:

  • Exercise, sports, cycling and running. “Leg Day” workouts and the day after.
  • Health issues including Shin Splints, Edema, Diabetes, and Varicose Veins
  • Sitting during a long flight or other travel
  • Pregnancy
  • Working a job that requires being on your feet all or most of the day including nurses, teachers, hairdressers, or sales, being a hostess, waitress, cashier, or working in a warehouse your legs can get tired from standing. Your legs can also tire from sitting in one position too long working at your desk.
  • You frequently wear high-heel, non-supportive shoes

Wear even heeled boots all day comfortably with Savoon Fitness tru-Copper Compression socks

WHY COMPRESSION SOCKS HELP

Compression Therapy increases blood circulation which in turn relieves arch pain and reduces foot swelling. Graduated compression reduces the risk of blood clots, which can occur even when sitting for prolonged periods of time, such as during an overseas flight.

While running, cycling, playing sports or exercising, compression socks reduce muscle fatigue and promote faster muscle warm up. They also aid in muscle recovery post-workout, sports or outdoor activities such as hiking.

But compression socks are not just useful for sports, they can help those on their feet all day such as nurses, teachers, and chefs. Savoon Compression socks fit discretely under scrubs or pants to help you work comfortably all day.

A good stretch that does not sag or pinch during exercise

WHY CHOOSE SAVOON COMPRESSION SOCKS

Savoon Compression Socks are made of a comfortable nylon and copper blend, the graduated compression stockings (15-20 mmHg) have ventilated breathing channels that improve blood flow and provide the feet with oxygenated blood. Increased blood flow relieves arch pain, foot swelling, and post workout inflammation.

Comfortable, ventilated material is thicker than a tight but thinner than a sport sock, it fits easily into a boot or shoe

Savoon Compression socks also contain tru-copper, compression socks with copper have become popular amongst athletes because they are associated with improved recovery time and increased performance. Copper also makes for an anti-bacterial fabric that is also moisture wicking, they help keep feet dry, cool and odor free.

Savoon socks contain copper which has anti-microbial properties and aids in muscle recovery

They come with two sets to a pack, so you can wear a pair one day at the gym and the other pair the next day to alleviate any post-workout day soreness.

MY EXPERIENCE: PUTTING THE Savoon Fitness tru-Copper Compression Socks TO THE TEST

To test the socks, I tried three different circumstances: I wore them to the gym with Yoga pants, under a pantsuit at work and they fit discretely under knee-high boots, so they can be worn with boots and a skirt with or without tights. I paired them with black tights for a streamline monochromatic look. My go-to boots have a 3″ heel, so my feet are often sore after a day of standing and walking.

The Savoon socks fit under my over the calf boots, narrow toe boots so I can wear them comfortably all day

The socks stay up and are comfortable without pinching or feeling too tight. My feet felt more relaxed during the day, not as sore and I am not as aware of stress point on my feet, ankle, and toes, and my calves and knees are more comfortable and my calves don’t cramp up at night after a long day on my feet or after a tough workout.

Compression toes keep feet comfortable by enhancing circulation

FOR FITNESS

At the gym, they make my warm-up stretching, yoga and stationary biking more comfortable and post workout, I feel less soreness after my workout or if I wear these socks the day after to ease post-workout achiness. The socks stay dry and odor free even after a tough workout session.

CONCLUSION

Avoid leg soreness after a long day on your feet or post-workout achiness with Savoon Fitness tru-Copper Compression Socks which improve blood circulation and oxygen delivery to active muscles and joints in the legs. The two pairs to a pack provide a pair for wearing during exercise and a pair to wear the next day to recover. Don’t be tempted to skip a workout because you will have to spend the next day on your feet all day, Savoon Fitness tru-Copper Compression Socks help you recoup quickly even when working out days in a row.
