Yet another use for an awesome Liptini product

June 22, 2009 · Leave a Comment

So I thought I had thought of every use for Liptini Mixer Pencils (I can do a quick whole makeup job using just Pink Whip), but as I flipped through this month’s SELF magazine, I found another great use: use the Ice Water (clear) Mixer Pencil around your cuticles when you are applying polish to keep the color off of them. And since it contains a ton of Shea Butter, your cuticles look great in no time if you keep it in your purse for cuticle moisturization on the go!

Wow, I have to go back to my Liptini box and start playing with everything in case I missed any more uses. 🙂

Find the Ice Water Mixer Pencil at Liptini.com.

Emjoi Clear Skin Phototherapy Device on sale $26

June 5, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Just noticed the Emjoi AP-66T Clear Skin at Amazon.com for $25.92 (regular price $50).

I haven’t tried it, but seems like a good deal for a no-frills phototherapy device for acne.

Quick tip: Soothe a sunburn

June 5, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Forget your sunscreen? Instead of your standard cleanser, brew up some green or white tea, dip a washcloth in it and gently pat your face (seriously, no scrubbing this is not the time to exfoliate). It will take down the inflammation and redness down, and soothes your skin quick. Simple and inexpensive, as well as effective.

Atralin: a new prescription retinol with less irritation risk

May 6, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Just started reading about Atralin, a tretinoin (like Retin-A) that contains moisturizers to lower the chance of irritation.

What is Atralin?

ATRALIN® (tretinoin) Gel, 0.05%, is for topical use prescribed to treat acne.

I’ll have to ask my derm about it next time I’m in – this looks promising.

My Atralin Experience

So update, I tried it and LOVE it. There is a nice buffer built-in but it absorbs into skin without residue or gritty feel. It feels so good on the skin, I have to be careful not to over-apply.

Check out the texture:

A new advance in the retinol market
