5 Weird Skincare Trends You May Want to Try

November 21, 2019 · 2 Comments

Throughout the years, the skincare industry has gone through a constant evolution of trends. You’ve probably already heard of 24-karat gold face masks, the multi-step Korean skincare routine, bubbling face masks, and scary vampire facials — the list goes on and on. The thing about weird skincare trends is that they tend to be more shocking and Instagram-worthy rather than helpful to your skin. While some of these trends may be questionable in terms of their efficacy, here are some recent yet slightly strange trends that come with actual skin benefits to get you that gorgeous glow in no time:

1. CBD and Hemp Infused Products

Commonly associated with marijuana, these anti-inflammatory and non-psychoactive ingredients are becoming a rapidly growing trend in the realm of skincare for their subversive nature. Elle raves about how CBD-infused lotions can help relax tired muscles and hemp oil is a fantastic moisturizer. Fun fact: The Body Shop has been using hemp in their products ever since 1992.

2. Algae Face Masks

We tend to associate algae with the green stuff growing in our aquariums or floating around in the ocean, but this natural ingredient is power-packed with a wide range of goodies for your skin. In our article ‘Stable Waterless Vitamin C That Soothes: Kat Burki Nutrient-C Eye Cream’, we describe how algae extract “conditions, hydrates, softens, refines texture and detoxifies the skin.” Isn’t this multi-tasking amazing?

3. Dry Brushing

Originating from ancient Chinese medical practices, dry brushing involves using a soft bristle brush across your entire body from the bottom to the top to get rid of dead skin cells. Parsley Health explains that dry brushing may have a surprise health benefit, in the fact that it simulates the lymphatic system. The idea behind dry brushing is that you’re brushing towards the heart, working with the body’s natural lymph flow while exfoliating dead skin. It’s the perfect stress-reducing addition to your routine before taking your bath or shower.

4. Probiotic Skin Care

Okay, putting bacteria on your face might sound weird at first, but as long as it’s the good kind it can actually repair your skin barrier. In fact, using harsh facial cleansers and antibacterial soap can lead to dryness and irritation, but Forbes suggests that probiotics function as a “protective shield against bad bacteria, dialing down inflammation, preventing premature aging in the skin” and even reducing acne.

5. AI Personal Customization

Would you trust a machine to make skincare recommendations for you? A brand called Proven may be your best bet yet. It was founded by a team from Stanford University and relies purely on algorithms and artificial intelligence, gathering and analyzing data related to “individual ingredient efficacy to consumer testimonials and scientific-journal reports” to deliver top-notch personalized skincare. After all, robots are getting smarter and so should we in terms of the decisions we make regarding our skin.

At the end of it all, skincare trends always come and go. Something to keep in mind before trying any skincare trend it’s that it is always important to do your own research and conduct a patch test to prevent any negative skin reactions, especially for those with sensitive skin or any allergies.

August 2, 2019 · 3 Comments

This article explains the benefits of Moringa Oil, how to use Moringa oil on hair and skin, and reviews Prime Natural Organic Moringa  Oil.

Read how to use Moringa Oil to get dewy skin and grow longer healthier hair.
Prime Natural Organic Moringa Oil

Prime Natural Organic Moringa Oil

What is Moringa Oil?

Moringa Oil is an essential oil extracted from the Moringa oleifera, A.K.A. the drumstick tree. It is called the Miracle tree, as it is used for health and beauty. [1]

Moringa Oil is light yellow with just a hint of nut, but basically unscented. It has a consistency similar to a light oil such as jojoba.

A yellow oil that is light weight, absorbs easily and leaves no greasy residue

What are the Benefits of Moringa Oil?

Moringa Oil is a secret anti-aging weapon full of Omegas, vitamins, and nutrients that promote collagen and elastin.
It also keeps hair soft and strong while encouraging hair growth.

Moringa Oil is extracted from Moringa oleifera

Prime Natural Organic Moringa Oil has outstanding skin and hair benefits! It contains more vitamin A than carrots!

It is rich in Behenic Acid. Behenic acid gives smoothing properties to hair conditioners and skin moisturizers.

Moringa Oil has an impressive fatty acid and Omega-6 and Omega-9 profile, along with Vitamins A and C plus copper.
This combination promotes collagen production and skin elasticity enhancement.

What are Moringa Oil Benefits for Hair Growth?

Suggested ways to use Moringa OIl

Suggested ways to use Moringa OIl

Moringa Oil is an excellent natural remedy to repair hair damage and to nourish follicles. It is both rich in proteins to keep it strong and high in moisturizers to keep hair glossy and hydrated.

  • Moringa Oil promotes healthy hair growth due to its’ high vitamin A, zinc, vitamin E, B vitamins and silica contents. Vitamin E encourages health blood circulation to the scalp.
  • Moringa Oil protects the scalp and keeps it hydrated.
  • Moringa Oil contains benenic acid which is a fatty acid that smooths and conditions the hair. It is also a thickening agent.
  • Omegas revitalize hair while minimizing future split ends.
  • Moringa Oil contains copper, which increases the size of shrunken hair follicles, stops thinning and premature graying.

What are Moringa Oil Benefits for Skin

Rich in copper, Moringa Oil promotes collagen and elastin.

Many products promote collagen production, but few beauty products address elastin. Elastin gives skin its’ youthful springy and bouncey quality. This is very important to achieve young-looking skin.

Elastin maintenance is missing from many anti-aging programs. But it is important to younger, vibrant skin. To illustrate, someone may have a face full of fillers. They don’t show telltale signs of aging, but you think if them as looking for good for the age. You can still tell they are not young. Their skin may be line-less, but there face doesn’t have natural, youthful movement. Elastin is what gives this natural young look.

Copper is in a number of anti-aging creams and serums, but they are often quite pricey. If you want to add copper to your skincare program, Prime Natural Organic Moringa Oil is an excellent price point.

It contains omegas, which are highly moisturizing to both skin and hair.

Sunflower Oil has many hair and skin benefits

Sunflower oil can be used alone or combined with other oils. It is well tolerated by sensitive skin.

Why Use Sunflower Oil

Sunflower Seed Oil is hydrating, nourishing and an excellent supporting oil base. Sunflower Oil especially benefits coarse hair textures. It locks in moisture and deters hair breakage.

Sunflower Oil has many hair and skin benefits.

How to Use Sunflower Oil on Skin

Sunflower Oil is an effective face and body moisturizer. But it is a semi-greasy oil which makes the application and dry-down difficult. When mixed into a lotion or cream, sunflower oil can be exceptionally useful on body skin.

Sunflower Oil is non-comedogenic and can moisturize acne-prone areas. It soothes eczema, scarring, redness, and irritation.

  • Sunflower Oil retains moisture in the skin and is also rich in vitamin E.
  • Functions as a lipid buffer against drying ingredients or topical medicines [1]
  • Sunflower Oil softens skin irritated by drying topicals. It works well with Retinol because it hydrates and calms red, irritated skin.
  • Linoleic acid Gives sunflower seed oil anti-inflammatory properties.
  • It is a natural treatment for atopic dermatitis. [2]
  • The Vitamin E in Sunflower oil lightens skin discoloration.
  • It is gentle enough to use as an eye makeup remover. Apply oil directly to face and allow 30 seconds to dissolve makeup, massage gently if desired. Wash face as normal. To remove eye makeup, hold a sunflower seed soaked cotton ball over your closed lid for about 20 seconds. It dissolves mascara without rubbing or pulling on lashes.

Sunflower Oil Hair Benefits

Sunflower Oil is an excellent unscented oil for hair hydration and softening. It works as a base for scalp treatment essential oils such as Tea Tree, Rosemary, and Peppermint. It softens hair when combined with rosemary and lavender oils.

  • Vitamin E promotes scalp health.
  • It blends well with other oils. A blend of Sunflower Oil and Coconut Oil moisturizes and strengthens hair, and is not as greasy.
  • Ideal for coarse hair because it helps hair retain moisture. It is a light non-polar solvent that prevents water loss. It penetrates the hair shaft to lock and retain moisture.
  • It is less greasy than olive oil and won’t cause breakouts.
  • It contains Omega 9, an essential acid needed to stop breakage and stimulate hair growth.

Sunflower Oil benefits all hair types, especially hair needing extra moisture. This includes coarse hair, curly hair, and damaged hair.

General Beauty Benefits of Sunflower Oil

Use Sunflower oil for coarse and brittle hair to stop breakage and dryness

Sunflower oil on coarse hair prevents breakage

Sunflower Oil has a highly nutritious composition. It is one of the healthiest oils skin and hair application. The main component of sunflower oil is linoleic acid. Its other components include oleic acid and palmitic acid, lecithin, carotenoids, tocopherols, and numerous vitamins. These nourish skin and hair.

While Sunflower Oil is an effective moisturizer, it is also a carrier oil. It enables the other active moisturizing ingredients to sink deeper into the skin. Combine sunflower oil with jojoba, grapeseed oil, almond oil, or essential oils for extra benefits.
