What Is Le Vesque CBD Luxe Body Lotion

A CBD based body lotion full of high-caliber, skin-loving ingredients.

Why Le Vesque CBD Luxe Body Lotion is Special

Le Vesque’s signature ingredient, a high-quality Full-Spectrum CBD, works synergistically with other natural ingredients to make healthy, glowing skin.  Le Vesque products contain only USA-grown CBD that™s C02 extracted and third-party tested. And it’s cruelty-free.

Full-spectrum CBD does not contain components to give a “high” or altered sensation. What it does have is natural beauty benefits, including the ability to relieve dry skin, eczema and psoriasis. [1]

Many CBD lotions have a hempy, masculine smell. We love Le Vesque CBD Luxe Body Lotion because it smells of invigorating grapefruit, not hemp!

In addition to a high-quality Full-Spectrum CBD, this lotion has an especially impressive combination of ingredients.

Ingredient Profile

Algae nourishes and soothes skin

Algae Extract

Algae is chock-full of skin-friendly vitamins, minerals and nutrients.

Algae Extract as emollients, soothing agents, or antioxidants.

Algae extract contains polysaccharides. Polysaccharides are sugar-chains vital for maintaining skin structure. [4]

Algae breaks down with light exposure. Fortunately CBD Luxe Body Lotion comes in protective opaque packaging.

Royal Jelly

10-Hydroxydecanoic Acid is an extraction from a fatty acid in Royal Jelly.

Royal Jelly is what bees make for the Queen and queen larvae to eat. It is a white creamy substance containing B vitamins, amino acids, fatty acids, enzymes and minerals.

This anti-inflammatory anti-oxidant fights infections. Research shows royal jelly increases fibroblast action to promote wound healing. [5] It also heals acne, scars, and scrapes.

Meanwhile, Royal Jelly has anti-aging properties and smooths the appearance of wrinkles. [6]

Royal Jelly

Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract

Camellia Sinesis Leaf Extract is Green Tea.

Flowering Camellia Sinensis

Flowering Camellia Sinensis

Green tea contains polyphenols that soothe skin while providing antioxidants. Polyphenols may improve sun-damaged skin. [7] It contains phenols to strengthen collagen and elastin.

Camellia Sinesis Leaf Extract also contains EGCG. Research shows EGCG enables the production of new cells in the epidermis and reactivates dying skin cells. [8] This shows promise for repairing sun damage and scar healing.  [9]  EGCG is a potent antioxidant. It protects against environmental damage and neutralizes free radicals that prematurely age skin.

As a topical ingredient, it evens the skin tone. It is anti-inflammatory that reduces redness and inflammation around the delicate eye area.

Simmondsia Chinensis

Simmondsia Chinesis is Jojoba Seed Oil.

It has a similar structure to sebum, replacing the natural oils which the skin needs to stay healthy. It regulates oily skin, removes impurities and flakes, reduces inflammation and soothes skin. Jojoba is a carrier oil, increasing the efficacy of other active ingredients.

Jojoba Seed Oil

Cetearyl Olivate

Olive fatty acids deeply hydrate

Cetearyl Olivate is the fatty acid of Olives combined with a Cetearyl alcohol ester. A very safe ingredient that emulsifies active ingredients together within a moisturizer. It is a natural alternative to PEG.

Cetearyl attracts and binds moisture. Cetearyl alcohol is one of the “good” alcohols that soften, soothe and heal dry skin. It is an emollient.

Olive fatty acids contains Omegas 3 and 6, and polyphenols. Polyphenols are antioxidants that protect skin cells from oxidative damage.

Within a formulation it is not greasy like olive oil but retains the benefits.

The olive fatty acids give deep hydration, smooth skin and give the product a silky texture.

Sorbitan Olivate

A combination of fatty acids from Olive Oil plus an ester of sugar. Olive Oil fatty acid contains the highly emollient squalene. It also contains oleic and palmitic acids.

It contains Linoleic acid which has an anti-inflammatory effect. It hydrates skin to help stop wrinkle formation.

Olive fatty acids within a product base, such as this one, is superior because it gives olive benefits without the greasiness. It gives a product slip without being greasy or clogging pores.

Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter

Mango

A highly emoillent It’s rich in oleic acid (an omega-9 acid); and the saturated fatty acid stearic acid.

These moisturize, tighten, plump and firm the skin. It provides long-lasting moisture.

Mango is also rich in A & C to refine the skin.

CITRUS Grandis

Citrus Grandis, commonly known as Grapefruit Peel Oil, is high in collagen-producing Vitamin C.

It has antibacterial benefits and studies show it reduces acne.[10]

As with other citrus oils, it is an antioxidant with an uplifting scent.

Glycerin attracts moisture

Glycerin

Vegetable-based Glycerin is a natural, non-toxic, vegan-friendly humectant.

It attracts and retains water in the skin while supporting other active ingredients. It fills in gaps in dryer skin which makes skin look better and keeps the outer layer of the skin intact.

Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides

Style Chicks review of ROIL private collection body wash. Glossary of Skin and Hair Terms. Borage glossary definition on StyleChicks.com

Coconut Oil

A fraction of coconut or palm oil fatty acids combined with glycerin. It gives a product a rich feel and creates a silky appearance when applied to the skin. Caprylic/capric triglyceride creates a barrier on the skin’s surface to reduce moisture loss and address dryness. [11]It can make greasy ingredients leave a non-greasy finish. A gentle ingredient.

Tocopherol

A protective antioxidant that lessens discoloration. Tocopherol makes damaged skin soft and pliable again while reducing wrinkle and fine line formation.

An impressive line-up, isn’t it? But even great ingredients can underperform if they are chemically processed. Le Vesque uses no chemicals and a clean harvesting method: CO2 extraction.

CLEAN CBD & CO2 EXTRACTION

The CBD in this formulation is harvested by CO2 Extraction. CO2 Extraction is a green technology which retains all the natural properties while eliminating any heavy metals and pesticides. CO2 Extraction doesn’t pollute the environment.

CBD is sometimes extracted by using harsh chemicals. This is cheaper and faster. But it strips many of the wonderful natural healing properties of CBD.

If you are using a CBD skin product that doesn’t impress you, then the CBD may be inferior and a cheaper, chemically extracted variant.

Science of Skincare: The GroundBreaking Collagen & Skin Elasticity Study For Ninja Level Anti-Aging

February 26, 2020 · 2 Comments

Amongst the countless skincare products and procedures out there, what REALLY restores collagen? A recent study revealed facts that may alter what products you use in the fight against dull, aging skin.

The Collagen Conundrum

There are many collagen types in our body. Each collagen type has a function. Effective anti-aging skincare is not just restoring some form of collagen on areas of visible aging. It requires producing the right kind of collagen in the right place. This gives skin resilience and elasticity. Tricky, right?

We knew the deeper the skin can be stimulated to produce new collagen, the less facial sagging there will be.  That’s still true, but now there is more intel.

The Super Science-y Skin Study

A groundbreaking skin study revealed the composition of live young and aging skin.  It looked at the baby collagen in the skin. It noted the changes in elasticity with age in the twenties, thirties, and forties.

Special technology imaged the internal elasticity of the skin. It noted the concentration of the individual collagen fibers. They located which ones made skin elastic, taut and youthful. The location and impact of these concentrated collagen clusters were new information.

“The team also studied how the variations in skin elasticity in the papillary dermis would change the look of the skin and discovered that the skin surface of females without any signs of variations in elasticity was more likely to be smooth, whereas that of females with decreased elasticity looked slightly rough” [1]

The Result

The result? Now we know exactly WHERE we need to restore collagen. And we know which type of collagen rejuvenates skin and keeps it “springy”

“The team has found out that type III collagen is abundant in the areas with healthy skin elasticity in the uppermost layer of the dermis, but it decreases in the parts where the skin elasticity has deteriorated. This suggests that the decrease in type III collagen triggers the decrease in skin elasticity” [2]

In sum: what makes skin healthy, elastic and vibrant is collagen III within the dermal cells of the papillary dermis skin layer.

And the study identified the exact ingredient to accomplish the task. It is an ingredient that appears in skincare brands like Shiseido and Tatcha. It is also a natural ingredient that can be organically farmed. It’s Watercress. Yep, Watercress.

Watercress helps makes Type Collagen III in dermal cells

Watercress helps makes Type Collagen III in dermal cells

what to do About It

Henceforth, beauty buddies, we tackle anti-aging with the precision of a vapid ninja.

We‘re featuring select products using Watercress to best advantage to precisely target Collagen III production in the proper dermal cells.

And there are some great skin products in this lineup, including an all-natural Beauty Superfood oil with a Watercress base.

OUR SIGI SKIN EXPERIENCE

I first used it one morning, as I mentally was going through my to-do list and generally distracted. I had patch-tested it for reactions a few days prior, so I knew it had a nice jelly-like texture and subtle Eucalyptus scent.

But then as I applied it to my face and started massaging it in, my mental to-do list melted away as I realized that the texture and sensation of this face wash was a world of difference from my standard cleansers, all of which I considered pretty great.

I literally said “OH WOW!” out loud.

So…continuing the recommended 120 seconds of face washing felt like a glorious but fleeting spa treatment. I delighted in making small, gentle circles around my face with my fingertips

Another surprise came when I washed it off: despite the medium-jelly consistency, it washed off clean and without any scrubbing. My face was truly clean: no vestiges of last night’s skincare routine.

And for as gentle as the cleanser is, it had taken off a mild layer of dead skin that was leaving my skin a little dull. My face had a healthy glow, which is a great way to start a morning!

As I went about my morning routine, I noticed something interesting, even though my skin felt truly and deeply clean, it wasn’t at all tight feeling.

That is usually the trade-off: there are a lot of good cleansers that give you a deep clean feeling, but also strip your skin of moisture and leave it feeling tight.

Not so with Sigi Skin Kaleanser Face Wash. My skin was moisturized and so, so soft.

Sigi Skin believes makeup looks its’ best on good skin. They believe taking care of skin means makeup can enhance, not just mask or cover up. Less is more when skin already looks good.

Sigi Skin is new to the United States!
