NEWA Experience 4 Best Use Tips You Need to Know

October 4, 2020 · 2 Comments

We recently interviewed EndyMed, the makers of NEWA. NEWA is an at-home RF device designed to reduce facial sagging. The 3DEEP radiofrequency energy it uses is the same medical technology used by clinics and dermatologists. Here are our first impressions of NEWA.
NEWA tightens skin and produces collagen

NEWA tightens skin and produces collagen

What is NEWA?

NEWA is an at-home RF device designed to reduce facial sagging.

The 3DEEP radiofrequency energy that powers this device is the same medical technology used by clinics and dermatologists.

Here are our first impressions.

1. Does Using the NEWA device Hurt?

No. NEWA is not painful: it doesn’t zap, sting or burn.

There is a mild warmth, like getting an ultrasound.

We use it on the higher power setting, 2, but there is a lower power setting if needed. Even around the orbital bone, there is no discomfort.

Newa side view

Set the device to power level two for use, but reduce it to level one if you experience any discomfort

2. How much NEWA ACTIVATOR GEL should I use?

NEWA activator gel

The device comes with a tube of activator gel.

There is a conduction gel. It is important to use enough gel to be able to smoothly glide the treatment head in circles on the skin without tugging the skin. The amount shown in the instructional video looks like a bit much, but about what I found I needed.

I am doing all the possible treatment areas, so I use more gel than someone treating one area. The gel is reapplied to the treatment head before each section session.

At this rate, the gel tube in the kit will last about a month.

Replacement tubes of activator gel tubes are available from NEWA and other beauty vendors like Sephora and Neiman Marcus.

NEWA treatment head

Close up of the treatment head. Cover all of the metal with gel

3. The NEWA device Experience – How long does treatment last?

Doing all the treatment areas takes me about half an hour to 40 minutes. It is four minutes per treatment area.

I have slight redness after a treatment, but it is completely gone in about 15 minutes. There is no skin irritation. I can apply my makeup or serums immediately after.

I can see a lift immediately after use, especially on the brow bone area after a forehead treatment. And around my mouth.

I find it is worthwhile to take a few minutes to do a spot treatment immediately before makeup. It lifts the area and gives my eyes an alert, perky look and it smooths the lines from my nose to mouth.

Stay tuned for updates and a full report after our initial treatment is completed. Next up, we review the research to understand how the device works.

Stay Tuned For Updates on Our Results

The Style Chicks are currently using NEWA to treat:

  • Orbital area
  • Upper cheeks
  • Jawline, turkey waddle, and upper throat
  • Lower cheek area and sagging around the mouth
  • Forehead

4. Our Best Tips on How to Use

For the first month, we do 4-5 treatments per week in each area. We found the tips that EndyMed offered in our interview to be very helpful.

Mad Hippie Facial SPF: Why You Will Love the Best Benefits

July 23, 2020 · 5 Comments

MAD HIPPIE PRODUCT REVIEW: Mad Hippie Facial SPF Sunscreen
Hate wearing sunscreen because of the chalky white cast it leaves on your face? Mad Hippie has you covered with Mad Hippie Facial SPF. It’s a natural, 30+ broad-spectrum sunscreen that uses amazing antioxidant oils to treat skin AND negate that icky chalky sunscreen residue.
Mad Hippie Facial SPF uses Red Raspberry Seed Oil which saves *and* builds collagen

Mad Hippie uses Red Raspberry Seed Oil which saves *and* builds collagen

Why Mad Hippie Facial SPF Sunscreen is Special

Sunscreen is a scientifically proven form of skincare. Certain ingredients – some natural, some chemical – either absorb, reflect, or scatter UV rays. Sunscreen is mandatory for aHA, Vitamin C, and retinol users.

But many natural sunscreens use Zinc Oxide which leaves a chalky white film on skin. Have you ever skipped sunscreen just to avoid that cakey chalk look?

Mad Hippie Facial SPF

Mad Hippie Facial SPF

Dries down with no chalky cast or sticky residue

Mad Hippie found a solution to this problem in their Facial SPF. The unique ingredient profile negates that pasty white film with a special combination of treating oils. Let’s take a look at the ingredients that discretely treat and protect your skin.

What is in Mad Hippie Facial SPF? The Key Ingredients

Mad Hippie Facial SPF Has raspberry

Zinc Oxide

Zinc Oxide is a safe, broad-spectrum physical blocking agent. Zinc Oxide is a safe mineral verses a chemical.

It protects the dermal layer by bouncing  rays off the skin.

Aloe Vera

What are the skincare benefits of Aloe Vera?
  • Aloe Vera soothes minor burns, scrapes, and heals the skin.

  • High in antioxidants, it repairs skin damage and wrinkles. [1]
  • It stimulates the growth of new tissue and new skin, thus promoting a clearer, brighter, evenly toned complexion. By contributing moisture it keeps skin supple.

Regular use on dry and cracked skin can result in the faster healing of scars. It calms irritation and the fades redness in acne marks and scars. Oil from the seed has been used cosmetically in anti-wrinkle creams.

Avocado oil

Mad Hippie Facial SPF Has avocado

Red Raspberry seed oil contains Vitamin E to reduce skin damage.

Red raspberry seed oil contains Omega-6 and Omega-3 essential fatty acids to moisturize and lend a healthy glow to the skin.

And an incentive to wear your sunscreen: Red Raspberry Seed Oil saves collagen *and* helps build more collagen.

Mad Hippie Facial SPF Has Shea butter

Shea Butter

Shea Butter

Shea Butter treats acne scars, including cystic acne dark scars.

Shea can feed the skin and overhaul the skin texture. It repairs sunburns.

Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate

Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate is a water-soluble variety of Vitamin C.

Sodium ascorbyl phosphate (SAP) is a stable precursor of vitamin C that ensures a constant delivery of vitamin C into the skin. [3]

SAP has a strong antimicrobial effect and is excellent for treating and preventing acne. It is also skin-brightening.

A Vitamin C included in a sunscreen takes a step out of my morning routine, plus ensures my sunscreen doesn’t pill over a C serum.

Mad Hippie Facial SPF Has jasmine

What Is Le Vesque CBD Luxe Body Lotion

A CBD based body lotion full of high-caliber, skin-loving ingredients.

Why Le Vesque CBD Luxe Body Lotion is Special

Le Vesque’s signature ingredient, a high-quality Full-Spectrum CBD, works synergistically with other natural ingredients to make healthy, glowing skin.  Le Vesque products contain only USA-grown CBD that™s C02 extracted and third-party tested. And it’s cruelty-free.

Full-spectrum CBD does not contain components to give a “high” or altered sensation. What it does have is natural beauty benefits, including the ability to relieve dry skin, eczema and psoriasis. [1]

Many CBD lotions have a hempy, masculine smell. We love Le Vesque CBD Luxe Body Lotion because it smells of invigorating grapefruit, not hemp!

In addition to a high-quality Full-Spectrum CBD, this lotion has an especially impressive combination of ingredients.

Ingredient Profile

Flowering Camellia Sinensis

Camellia Sinensis reactivates dying skin cells

Full Spectrum Hemp-Derived CBD Oil

CBD Oil comes from Cannabis Sativa

CBD from Cannabis Sativa

Full Spectrum Hemp-Derived CBD Oil comes from the Cannabis sativa plant. It contains skin-loving cannabidiol, cannabigerol and antioxidant compounds.Cannabidiol Oil is high in Omega-3, 6 and 9 fatty acids. It is also high in Vitamins A, E, and D. [2]

This formulation contains 250 mg CBD. This can gently treat acne, skin irritation, and rough skin. [3]

Read more about the Full-spectrum CBD used in all Le Vesque CBD products here.

Algae nourishes and soothes skin

Algae Extract

Algae is chock-full of skin-friendly vitamins, minerals and nutrients.

Algae Extract as emollients, soothing agents, or antioxidants.

Algae extract contains polysaccharides. Polysaccharides are sugar-chains vital for maintaining skin structure. [4]

Algae breaks down with light exposure. Fortunately CBD Luxe Body Lotion comes in protective opaque packaging.

Royal Jelly

10-Hydroxydecanoic Acid is an extraction from a fatty acid in Royal Jelly.

Royal Jelly is what bees make for the Queen and queen larvae to eat. It is a white creamy substance containing B vitamins, amino acids, fatty acids, enzymes and minerals.

This anti-inflammatory anti-oxidant fights infections. Research shows royal jelly increases fibroblast action to promote wound healing. [5] It also heals acne, scars, and scrapes.

Meanwhile, Royal Jelly has anti-aging properties and smooths the appearance of wrinkles. [6]

Royal Jelly

Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract

Camellia Sinesis Leaf Extract is Green Tea.

Flowering Camellia Sinensis

Flowering Camellia Sinensis

Green tea contains polyphenols that soothe skin while providing antioxidants. Polyphenols may improve sun-damaged skin. [7] It contains phenols to strengthen collagen and elastin.

Camellia Sinesis Leaf Extract also contains EGCG. Research shows EGCG enables the production of new cells in the epidermis and reactivates dying skin cells. [8] This shows promise for repairing sun damage and scar healing.  [9]  EGCG is a potent antioxidant. It protects against environmental damage and neutralizes free radicals that prematurely age skin.

As a topical ingredient, it evens the skin tone. It is anti-inflammatory that reduces redness and inflammation around the delicate eye area.

Simmondsia Chinensis

Simmondsia Chinesis is Jojoba Seed Oil.

It has a similar structure to sebum, replacing the natural oils which the skin needs to stay healthy. It regulates oily skin, removes impurities and flakes, reduces inflammation and soothes skin. Jojoba is soothing to the skin and softens wrinkles. Jojoba oil is an emollient, made of 98% monounsaturated fats.

Jojoba is a carrier oil, increasing the efficacy of other active ingredients.

Jojoba Seed Oil

Jojoba Seed Oil

Cetearyl Olivate

Olive fatty acids deeply hydrate

Cetearyl Olivate is the fatty acid of Olives combined with a Cetearyl alcohol ester. A very safe ingredient that emulsifies active ingredients together within a moisturizer. It is a natural alternative to PEG.

Cetearyl attracts and binds moisture. Cetearyl alcohol is one of the “good” alcohols that soften, soothe and heal dry skin. It is an emollient.

Olive fatty acids contains Omegas 3 and 6, and polyphenols. Polyphenols are antioxidants that protect skin cells from oxidative damage.

Within a formulation it is not greasy like olive oil but retains the benefits.

The olive fatty acids give deep hydration, smooth skin and give the product a silky texture.

Sorbitan Olivate

A combination of fatty acids from Olive Oil plus an ester of sugar. Olive Oil fatty acid contains the highly emollient squalene. It also contains oleic and palmitic acids.

It contains Linoleic acid which has an anti-inflammatory effect. It hydrates skin to help stop wrinkle formation.

Olive fatty acids within a product base, such as this one, is superior because it gives olive benefits without the greasiness. It gives a product slip without being greasy or clogging pores.

Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter

Mango

A highly emoillent It’s rich in oleic acid (an omega-9 acid); and the saturated fatty acid stearic acid.

These moisturize, tighten, plump and firm the skin. It provides long-lasting moisture.

Mango is also rich in A & C to refine the skin.

CITRUS Grandis

Citrus Grandis, commonly known as Grapefruit Peel Oil, is high in collagen-producing Vitamin C.

It has antibacterial benefits and studies show it reduces acne.[10]

As with other citrus oils, it is an antioxidant with an uplifting scent.

Glycerin attracts moisture

Glycerin

Vegetable-based Glycerin is a natural, non-toxic, vegan-friendly humectant.

It attracts and retains water in the skin while supporting other active ingredients. It fills in gaps in dryer skin which makes skin look better and keeps the outer layer of the skin intact.

Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides

Style Chicks review of ROIL private collection body wash. Glossary of Skin and Hair Terms. Borage glossary definition on StyleChicks.com

Coconut Oil

A fraction of coconut or palm oil fatty acids combined with glycerin. It gives a product a rich feel and creates a silky appearance when applied to the skin. Caprylic/capric triglyceride creates a barrier on the skin’s surface to reduce moisture loss and address dryness. [11]It can make greasy ingredients leave a non-greasy finish. A gentle ingredient.

Tocopherol

A protective antioxidant that lessens discoloration. Tocopherol makes damaged skin soft and pliable again while reducing wrinkle and fine line formation.

An impressive line-up, isn’t it? But even great ingredients can underperform if they are chemically processed. Le Vesque uses no chemicals and a clean harvesting method: CO2 extraction.

CLEAN CBD & CO2 EXTRACTION

The CBD in this formulation is harvested by CO2 Extraction. CO2 Extraction is a green technology which retains all the natural properties while eliminating any heavy metals and pesticides. CO2 Extraction doesn’t pollute the environment.

CBD is sometimes extracted by using harsh chemicals. This is cheaper and faster. But it strips many of the wonderful natural healing properties of CBD.

If you are using a CBD skin product that doesn’t impress you, then the CBD may be inferior and a cheaper, chemically extracted variant.

Full CBD Body Care: Use Le Vesque CBD Luxe Body Lotion for daily body skin maintenance, and CBD Luxe Skin Cream to spot treat problematic body skin conditions, chapped elbows, and dry hands

It leaves my skin smooth, plump, and luminous with no greasy feel.

Just a tiny dollop of the creamy lotion is all that is needed.

One pump of the rich textured body lotion

Scent

The scent is a natural leafy scent with grapefruit overtones. No hempy odor.

Feel

The dry-down is not waxy, gritty, greasy or oily.

Skin does appear instantly more supple. The effect lasts through hand washing.

Spreads easily with no oily or greasy dry down.

Package Design Features

The opaque pump bottle is airtight to keep the CBD and other precious ingredients fresh.

Each pump dispenses 1 ml of lotion

The pump dispenses an exact CBD dose in each use. This is superior to other CBDs we have experienced.
