That’s the highest count available on a home-use hair growth device! HairMax PowerFlex Cap helps even moderate hair loss without drug-related side effects.

Choosing the Right Hairmax Device for You

Style Chicks has long been a fan of HairMax devices. We’ve featured the Hairmax Laser Comb Professional 12, HairMax Laserband 82, and now the Hairmax PowerFlex Cap.

Not sure which device will work best for you?  Read our HairMax PowerFlex Cap overview and our comparison between this HairMax PowerFlex Cap and the LaserBand 82.

Who HairMax DEVICES can benefit

Hair loss affects 40% of women, including women under 30. There are fewer treatment options for women coping with hair loss. Many drugs for hair loss have unwanted side effects.

There is a brief window to revive dormant hair follicles so they once again grow hair. This chart shows degrees of hair loss. Does your loss look like one of the stages in blue? Then clinical testing shows that a HairMax device can help.

THE HairMax PowerFlex Cap DEVICE

Who HairMax PowerFlex Cap Laser 272 Can Help

The sooner hair loss treatment begins, the better the results. Female stages I-2 to I-3 are probably only noticeable to you and your hairstylist. But it still distressing and indicates measures should be taken ASAP.

HairMax

Here are the basic differences between the HairMax Laserband 82 and this HairMax PowerFlex Cap.

Design

The HairMax LaserBand 82 is a wide band that treats the scalp in three sections. It is placed at the front of the hairline in the first position. Then at the beep, slide it back to the next treatment area. The device can be positioned to treat the temples and sideburn area if desired.

Using the HairMax Laserband 82

The light-activated serum works with the HairMax device

The HairMax LaserBand 82 device

The PowerFlex cap is placed on the head and doesn’t require any manual adjustment or repositioning during treatment. It treats the whole scalp at once.

If ease of use is important to you, PowerFlex is the easiest laser device design to use.

Laser Power, Coverage and Use

POWERFLEX CAP

The PowerFlex Cap has 272 lasers, packed densely on the cap as shown.

Insert the PowerFlex Cap within the included baseball-style cap or the cap of your choosing. You can wear it outside and walk around as needed.

Fit the device into the HairMax cap

Fit the laser cap device into the HairMax cap

PowerFlex Cap covers the hairline, crown, and hairline. Depending on your head size and shape, it may not reach the temple and sideburns as well as the LaserBand 82 can.

PowerFlex Cap bathes the top of the head with an unparalleled amount of low-level laser light. If your hair loss is frontal or stages 1-4 through II-2, the PowerFlex can aggressively treat hair loss before it is too late to reverse it.

The LaserBand 82

The LaserBand 82 has 82 medical-grade lasers across the band. They are densely placed, and it is moved in sequence on the scalp over three treatment areas or zones. The effect is equivalent to 82 lasers times the three area zones, or 246 lasers total. It is 1230 mW’s total output, less strong than the PowerFlex Cap (1360mW output) but is still a robust output for effective treatment. But since the Laserband82 is manually positioned, it is possible to accidentally skip an area.

HairMax Laserband 82 has eight-two diodes that flood the scalp with treating light therapy

COMB TEETH

A very useful feature is the parting combs that allow the laser light full access to the scalp.

If your hair loss is patchy or if your remaining hair is dense in sections, this parting comb feature may be a deciding factor in favor of the LaserBand 82.

Additional Considerations

Treatment Time

  • The HairMax LaserBand 82 is faster, as little as 90 seconds per area.
  • The HairMax PowerFlex has two treatment modes, 15 minutes and 30 minutes.

Cost

  • The HairMax LaserBand 82 is $799. (Currently $699 at Amazon)
  • The HairMax PowerFlex is $1999. (Currently $1749 at Amazon)

Clinical Research Studies

Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) occurs in both men and women.

HairMax uses Low-Level Laser Light Therapy or LLLT to treat AGA. Clinical studies show low-level laser light therapy can regrow hair. But not all hair growth devices get results. Research indicates only a specific laser light intensity can regrow hair. [1] HairMax devices deliver that intensity.

HairMax laser devices have been the subject of 7 clinical studies proving both efficacy and safety with an over 90% success rate. These clinical studies were conducted at major medical research centers in the U.S. showing an increase hair count of 129 additional new hairs per sq. inch and in 4 recent studies, an 81% increase in hair growth occurred.

For twenty years, HairMax has produced hair growth innovations. Theirs was the FIRST device on the market to receive FDA clearance as a medical device to treat hair loss and stimulate hair growth.
