Laura Mercier has released an exclusive, limited edition kit to brighten up your peepers. The Laura’s Secrets Flawless Brightened Eyes Volume 2 has everything you need to look well rested and perky. It contains:

  • 0.08 oz Secret Concealer in shade 2
  • 0.14 oz Secret Brightening Powder (for fair to medium skintones)
  • 2 x 0.1 oz Eye Basics in Wheat (light medium beige) and Eyebright (pale brightening blue)
  • 0.05 oz Secret Brightener in 1 (for fair to medium skintones)

I’ve used both of the Eye Basics in this kit and love both – I wanted every Eye Basics in the collection after trying them. I will say that they would probably work better on a light-toned olive complexion that my Casperian-pale self - there is just a hint of a tawny hue in each that would be beautifully brightening on olive toned skin.

I have to say, I’m a little shocked to see the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils 15 Year Anniversary Collection. Which is not to say it isn’t a fantastic collection, it’s just that if I got this kit, it would be a reminder every morning as I put on my eyeliner that I’ve been out of high school…you guessed it…15 years. See, when I was a fresh faced 17 year old who didn’t need under eye concealer, a fantastic brand named Urban Decay came on the scene. Thanks to them, freshman year I alternated between pinky-purple (called Asphyxia) and classic red nails (I’m thinking it was called Kiss, but it might have been Trip – I had both), and discovered that shimmery makeup can be a good thing.
